They were a worthless turret before, they'll be worse now that rail guns have the same optimal range as them.
I don't even have the luxury of knowing I can outflank rail snipers, because they're operating in the same field as me.
I'll still need a damage mod to kill a hardened tank (even with XTs), so the hardener nerf doesn't really help me. (This is, incidentally, why I empathise with the people complaining about shotgun proficiency changes)
I can't fit a damage mod now, because then rails will insta gib me. I don't even have the defense of mobility.
No, these changes have, as usual, screwed over far more things than they thought they would.

Yes, I know.
Before there was nearly nothing that missiles could do better, simply because rails had better range and were often using it, to their detriment (on certain maps, at least).
Now, rails are just a duplicate of missiles that do EVERYTHING better.
If I want to gank someone now, I'd do it with a rail, because really, when my range is the same anyway, what's the point?

I think you misunderstand.
Missiles aren't particularly 'anti-armour', in my experience, despite what their damage profile might tell you. Tactical play is always the same.
Previously I had the benefit of rails trying to exploit their enormous range, and I was therefore able to sneak up on them while they were focused 400m away.
Now? A rail is like a giant slug shotgun.
Which hits harder with the same range cap than my giant buckshot shotgun.
Thereby missile tank's roles have been cut even further.

Go try them, have fun, GL, come back when you're sick of using a turret that barely kills armour tanks, let alone a hardened Gunnlogi (protip: missiles are pretty much incapable of killing a hardened tank of any kind).
And I swear to God infantry just giggle when I fire a volley at them. And ever single one misses.
I often need to fire two bursts at infantry to score a kill, which represents 25s of time and a full sixth of my ammunition capacity, with very low chances of restocking thanks to CCP's brilliant placement of supply depots.
Railguns just got buffed, too, you twat.

You must be thick or a terrible tanker my brother has a 6mil sp tank as his alt. It is missle and at close quarters he destroys any tank in his path
Great.
Now give him a rail gun.
See what happens.
He'll be using it in the same range, because that's all it's good for now.
Tell me when he manages to kill a hardened Gunnlogi solo, then we can talk about how bad I am. (btw, for the record, maths says proto missiles do 2300 per volley against a hardened tank, including a damage mod. Then you get ten seconds of reload).
Better yet, go borrow your brother's tank and give it a spin. Try your very hardest to kill a rail tank.

I have used them I killed 4 maddy and 3 gunlogi before I got taken out :) and if you are complaining about running out of ammo watch your ammo count and retreat to restock before you run out and find yourself empty while staring down the barrel of a rail turret
