Edit: Heavies shouldn't have a problem slaughtering these Freaks of the Month
Heavies with any situational awareness don't, if been running a min sentinel along with my min scout, even bricktanked scouts die from a single burst of my HMG.

The true issue here is that a scout is supposed to be weak when detected: it's why we have so little health to start with.
I quite honestly need all my slots to add my range extenders, my precision enhancers, my damps, and maybe one armor slot or extra reps. I don't think we should nerf the slot layout it just got good.
However when you are brick tanked and cloaked: you have the advantage of stealth and at the same time health for when you are caught.
The two should not meet like the currently do, it should be more of a one or the other approach.
Bojo has the answer: Find a way to punish scouts who are caught while cloaked. That way the cloak has a disadvantage when used improperly, i.e. a scout must wait on the cloak to finish shutting down before a weapon can be drawn. |

Cal scouts would break all others then.
Honestly, biotic and wear mods just need to look better. Or cause the basic armour plate type, not Ferros or reactive to have an added movement speed loss on light frames.

Not a fan of brick tanking my Scout suit. I play an eWAR suit, but if I wanted to do so I am damn well within my rights. No one should have the ability to dictate a style of play upon another person. The ability to customize any role to suit your needs is part of the attraction of this game. Remove that and you have a pile of buggy code. |

Not saying you shouldn't, I'm saying it shouldn't be the best way to fit a scout, or even a favorable one.

One thing to bear in mind is active scanners are buggy (at least that's what I've read). Making Gal logis a more viable counter to scouts not running damps should create more incentive for less bricked fits. There's no advantage if your cloaked, brick-tanked scout gets lit up like a Christmas tree. It will be chewed to pieces from range.
Best PvE idea ever!

Honestly, I don't think it is... at least for me. I tried it at first to see what people were talking about and I did worse than my current ewar fitting. Invisible to everyone on radar, can see everyone, and can easily move into position w/ cloak to land glorious shotgun headshots directly to the back of the head. |

Amen, I run a Gal scout on my scout char. That is all save for previously only speccing up to wear my BPO Raven suit for fun because I paid for it.
I use the scout for what it is supposed to be, not as a cheap assassin suit. Ninja mode is only a playstyle. I brick when I want to run as a simple shoot to kill or sniper and ewar it when I want to infiltrate. It is the only suit I care to put points in and was the only Gal suit when I started the game.
I knew the cloak was just going to bring the role down further as FOTM and also put more emphasis than has already been placed on running as a ninja assassin.

The "real scouts" I play with -- including two that are quite a bit better than you, with all due respefct -- are brick tanking their scouts AND using the cloak at the same time.

This would work and makes sense. It's a light frame not equipped to handle the load of armor plates.

Then why not have ONE suit you can customize how you see fit and get rid of all the others? Heavies can't use a cloak. With your logic a heavy should be able to run like a scout speed/cloak. The suits should have some play with fittings, a scout with 800+ HP should not be a realistic option.
All the suits need a role Scouts fast speed close range dps (mmorpg rouge) Assualt decent speed longer ranger dps (mmorpg archer) *a 3rd bonus rof for racial guns would help define it's role* Logi support (mmorpg healer/buffer) Heavy slow speed high tank ability (mmorpg warrior)
Without roles that are more clearly defined Dust can never achieve balance. Everyone talks about wanting balance but the truth is it's just that TALK. I know Dust isn't a mmorpg like WoW, or Everquest, or DCUO or any MMO you might have played. The set up is in essence the same. How would any MMO function without defined roles?
Honestly there needs to be a limit how much each suit can brick tank bc the player base knows nothing more than ZOMG I HAVE THE MOST HP POSSIBLE ON THIS SUIT!

An MMO without defined roles would be awesome, think about what kind of crazy builds you can come up with. Just take a look at Path Of Exile. In that game you can start off like a archer, and end up being a warrior. Just like scouts in Dust.
Defined roles are for thoughtless carebears. You are supposed to be able to "enter assault territory" with a scout in Dust, just as a heavy in the dust commercial bis able to snipe on Youtube.

Scout ak.0 here.
I have my 500+ armor fits with rifles for the outside and I have my 220 armor fits with 9.5 sprint and 600 stamina.
It all depends on the map and who I'm playing with. I use my cloak for a tactical advantage and it only helps against complete idiots anyways.

^ Take notes here kiddies. This is how to get the most out of your scout. You cant just run 1 fit.

No, they are low risk high reward if you use a cloak and HP mods. If you fit like me, it's high risk high reward (cuz I don't cloak). Basically any scout not using a cloak right now is taking unnecessary risk because; why not cloak? |
