It's like a credit card - we all brought something that we didn't have the money for to afford and now we're in debt, the difference is collections isn't coming after us. I got my scout and had enough Sp laying around so I'm not negative. It really pisses me off that new guys wouldn't know about multipliers and bought Amarr scouts. How should they know CCPis incompetent? They have not witnessed blunder after blunder. Bandaid fixes, Misleading or broken skills, general lack of any insight into the community. They couldn't. They just see a months worth of not getting anything new. I wouldn't put up with thatshit if I was new. They still get to keep what they skilled into though. CCP didn't yank the SP, the skills invested in, and the suits.
I'm sure that makes them feel better. How do you feel when your sp is negative, even for one log in? I personally used to fucken flip out when I got that glitch. This isn't a glitch. A casual player will casually go somewhere else.

No ones being punished, people get to use a suit they shouldn't have enough sp for.

It would be closer if there was a message box that appeared before you started playing saying "hey click the red button clearly labeled "unintended glitch, abuse at your own risk" to get cheat your way trough a skill tree. Servers being down does not leave room for rats trying to exploit something so clearly unintended and easily spotted for correction. I'm truley curious how people actually rationalized this decision and simply amazed by how furious some people are that they're getting to keep the suit they wanted while they earn the so they would've had to save up before earning it fairly. |

Still I feel at the time when I did skill into it...being very late..... if its full and substantial values had been provided initially more hesitiant to put SP into it like myself.
As I consistently say I am not a numbers person I don't know the values of all skills, how much total SP each one is worth, or the break downs of the skill multipliers.....
It may not be that we are being punished....but it feels like I am for CCP making another mistake on patch day, inclusive of my own idiocy.

This.
Its unacceptable practise for a company to punish its customers regardless. I'm amarr rp also, I got the proto scout and proto assault and points in heavy though.
I also didn't know at the time but iv still got the suit so meh but again, very bad practise to punish customers and I buy a lot of aurum so I am a customer, not one of the 'I don't spend anything on this game and deserve what I get and so shoiukd you' free loading scrub types.
I'm sat at -1.2 mil sp. To get level 5 I paid 1.2 mil sp. That is how much proto costs in sp so this 'fix' is totally skew whiff and buggered.

You're paying for what you wanted. After all, if you didn't want Amarr proto scout suits, why would you have spent sp into something you didn't want anyway?

I had 1.2 mil and 2 proto suits before the refund. After the refund, I still have 2 proto suits but -238k. I only specced back into Amarr assault and scout. I spent maybe an extra 300k besides that. I should still have 2 suits and some sp to spare.

This situation I've underlined is the result of outside action and CCP not being able to keep up the server because of it. The situation in the OP is due to people being stupid and not paying attention. See the difference here? There is also when CCP does improper maintenance and the server is down for a day. Same situation, still get refunded SP. You dont get refunded sp in EVE it just keeps counting, you earn sp entirely passivly in that game. |

I think this thread exemplifies everything that is wrong with the DUST "community", and is very indicative of why new players rarely stick around.

However those values increase over a set period of time. While you cannot get your SP back you can have hours, days, weeks, months to rethink and stop if necessary your SP selection. In dust we work for similar lengths of time to achieve our skills but a momments indecision and months of works is destroyed.
Whereas I was skilling into Large Railgun the other day..... someone told me Cruise missiles would be better even 6 days into my counter I was able mitigate and redirect the SP slow from the month long run through all prerequistes, and into the prerequisites of Cruise Missiles.
