Because heat reduction bonuses are not functioning at the moment, I've been privileged with the experience of using the scrambler rifle without any heat reduction bonuses. And it was a terrible experience. It's very difficult to kill anyone without the gun exploding in your face first. Before 1.8, scrambler rifles were balanced by a harsh overheat mechanic. In 1.8, damage was reduced but the overheat mechanic was left untouched. This has resulted in a scrambler rifle with overly harsh overheat mechanic that doesn't suit the current damage output of the weapon. CCP, please adjust the scrambler rifle's heat buildup to be balanced with its current lower damage output. I've been told that people prefer fake smiles over the honest expressions of their fellow men. : )

I think it was the hardest hit by the damage nerf because they didn't adjust its heat buildup. Gun control is not about guns...it's about control. The only way to ensure freedom is by having the means to defend it.

The overheat on the Amarr Assault doesn't seem to do me too many favors, as the overheat gets reduced so much, I can pretty much fire 52 rounds before it overheats, but other times it blows up in my face in under 20. I'm not quite sure what's going on with the overheat function, but something weird is definitely floatin' around in there. Your face is something to shoot, so I will shoot. Don't be offended, I do it to everyone. Commandoooo punch! >:D

My concern is that it will become a necessity to fully spec into scrambler rifles in order for them to be viable. I don't want this becoming an elitist item like tanks were pre-1.7. Also good job to any of you who are doing well with the weapon currently. Really, what's your secret? You were shot in the head or/and you haven't maxed out certain core skills that passively raise your HP. If I can't 1 body shot a caldari scout, how can I be expected to believe a scrambler rifle 1 shot a heavy? Also if it was OP, all the FoTM chasers would be running it; and they are not running scrambler rifles. Ever noticed how sometimes you spawn with 90% shields and armor? yep, none of your passive skills have loaded yet and that includes the Amarr Assault heat reduction. Hopefully ccp fixes this soon.

In the weapon's previous incarnation, the bonus made it overpowered. Without that bonus, it was a very well balanced weapon. That's no longer the case. Amarr assault bonus is now mandatory for any somewhat serious SCR user. It doesn't work though, because CCP. Disclaimer: I did not spec back into the Amarr assault in 1.8. You have long since made your choice. What you make now is a mistake.
