As you can see the hotfix is going out and the notes about it in terms of balance is a small step.
What do you guys think about having smaller incremental changes instead?

Science for kids:
http://www.sciencebuddies.org/science-fair-projects/project_variables.shtml
"Experiments also have controlled variables. Controlled variables are quantities that a scientist wants to remain constant, and he must observe them as carefully as the dependent variables. For example, if we want to measure how much water flow increases when we open a faucet, it is important to make sure that the water pressure (the controlled variable) is held constant. That's because both the water pressure and the opening of a faucet have an impact on how much water flows. If we change both of them at the same time, we can't be sure how much of the change in water flow is because of the faucet opening and how much because of the water pressure. In other words, it would not be a fair test. Most experiments have more than one controlled variable. Some people refer to controlled variables as "constant variables.""

Smaller is better in terms of fixing things. But when making small changes, they must also be deployable more rapidly than big changes.
We all have seen the fixes the Company has previously done. Majority of the time they have been way overboard.

What do you guys think about having smaller incremental changes instead? In all honesty the patch just came out. Why are changed needed already? I understand a few of them for the broken numbers and everything, but nerfing suits already? Why not let us play it out for a few weeks and see if people adjust? Wasn't that always the mentality of New Eden? Not to mention no vehicle changes were added in the patch but they're being included in a hot fix instead? Just doesn't make any sense.
Small tweaks or Big Hammers from CPP are all the same in my, our, eyes. You never know whats coming next with these game developers. You could spec into something totally awesome and viable one day then the next day its completely useless and a complete SP dump.

It was said best there.
When does the care bear mentality stop and the "adapt or die" New Eden mentality finally come into play? After all, CCP, you were the ones who created that attitude when you launched Eve years ago. Have you forgotten? It seems to me that you have. |

Smaller the better, more time to digest and provide feedback on changes made.
More info= better patches in future.

Im liking it, as long as there is potential to revert them back if need be, if thats the case people may not get so bent out of shape , as we all know problems may arise here and there . Overall , as mcdonalds always say, im lovin' it |

I think most of us are getting sick of not only massive nerfs / buffs, but multiple changes to the same area throwing everything out of whack.
If CCP can increase the tempo of the hotfixes then I think most of us would prefer smaller changes, If only to protect CCP from overreacting and going to far. To often they have nerfed something only to leave it in a state requiring a buff (Flaylock is a good example).
Balance requires fineness, not a freaking sledge hammer.

I am slightly concerned with the current model put forth right now. These alterations are not small at all over we are talking 20% loss of protection, against AV that admittedly is sub par but not wholly unbalanced.
As well we see a halving of the Railgun's range where RoF, elevation, and or tracking penalties/ tweaks could have been better applied to reinforce the Railguns long range, high Alpha role......
Instead while many necessary changes are being made...... I still see HAV being hit too hard. Not that they didn't need to be hit....just not so violently.
Community wise it will be impossible of vehicle enthusiasts to suggest slight buffs to such reduced values without certain community elements strawmanning them as demanding their OP death machines back. I certainly would have liked to see smaller changes with rooms for AV and HAV to suggest further alterations.

Seems silly to me that people are already bent out of shape and none of them have even tried it out, thats just unfair towards them.
I say ignore half of the QQers and listen to the ones with valid points after its been done and at least tested.
