Me, but only when I'm in squad. Blues usually don't give a f... what happens to me around 5 sec after I heal them.

Everyone was complaining about my "equipment spam", so I'm riding in a tank or in my dropship.
You can walk to the nearest supply depot if you want ammo, and you can spawn in at the back and hike in or ride a LAV.
Let me know when the majority of the player base wants to see me again. |

as of yesterday heavy's dont need support
std hmg is killing at 40+ meters with no logi support
heavy's are running around the maps rearranging face with all the resist bonuses and extra HP
while the lonely logi sits around the objective waiting for his love to come back

I have a logi adv, used to be proto but its still good, if im in a squad ill go logi, solo im in scout. Havent been in a squad since 1.8 dropped tho |

I've actually run across quite a few logi suits lately, all chasing around heavies. Ran into a crowd of em earlier and left some explosive presents before vaulting over a railing. Was pretty funny watching that kill feed. There are definitely still plenty of logi suits around, just not as many slayer logi players. Those left are the dedicated.
Nova Knives are OP! Nerf em before you lose all your proto suits!

My Logi ALT was never a Slayer and yes he's still around. I am loving the change from Medic to Combat Engineer. The skill changes even let me fit on some grenades that were being crowded out by Equipment.

I did. I skilled up to Min Logi 4 and am kinda glad I waited on 5. I'm trying to squad up with guys and rep them. It's not working out too well. When squadmates aren't spreading out to the wind in their scout suits I'm getting shotgunned in the back or running away from heavies or being focus fired on. I was excited to to be an armor repping specialist but I feel obsolete. Logis are almost as squishy as scouts but with less battlefield awareness, less speed, and less options.
Scanning used to be a good reason to be a logi but now it's worthless if you're not Gallente. Passive armor rep helped with survivability. Now that's gone and we're squishier. I'm a better armor repper now but I'm also utterly dependant on wether or not my squadmates cooperate with me. That's a recipe for frustration. I'm also considered fresh meat on sight since enemies know I'm probably all about armor repping/support and not combat.
Maybe if I can find a way to consistently squad up with guys that won't squander/ignore what I have to offer I can get into a groove. I still have a chance to be a force multipler. If I can find two heavies who will stick with me I can rep them with a Six Kin at +3m range and +20% rep amount, provide intel with good passive precision and range, provide proto hives and links, res them with proto needle, and occasionally help with gun game.
I can make a decent squad good, and a good squad great. But a disorganized squad that doesn't work together or make smart decisions....they just get me killed while I try to help them. To be honest I'm pretty frustrated at the moment.  |

I switched from Assault to Logi and I gotta say i'm having fun. Once I got over the instinct to fight, as oppossed to support, things started coming together for me. The games no where near where I want it to be. Not only is nearly everyone below passive and active scans due to the large influx of scouts, but combine with the large influx of heavies it is very very scary away from protected blue letters for medium suits. For what it's worth i'm having fun with the new play style, much lower stress level fortifying a letter and supporting as oppossed to front line killing. Plus, I always got the ol' Incubus to take me up above the nonsense going on at ground level.
Switzerland is small and neutral. We're more like Germany. Ambitious and misunderstood.

I switched from proto amarr logi to minmatar logi, taking this char right back to its roots but I have proto min heavy and assault also. I won't be using the min assault until its bonus bug is fixed.

I'm still an Amarr Logistic, been thinking about doing scout-logi but the loss of CPU/PG is just too great, especially given I'd not be enjoying the Logistic equipment bonus. Still, the Amarr Scout does look nice. |

Wow I hadn't put that together but you're right! It's not just scouts that are running off and breaking up squads. It's heavies now that are also running off with no regard for me. Minmatar and Caldari heavies are more mobile and shieldy so maybe they prefer running around to staying within rep tool range. As I see it they would benefit from repping as much as Amarr or Gallente though.
It's making a bit more sense now, but it still sucks. Today and yesterday I keep trying my damndest to stick with a group and before I know it I'm all alone. Then I try to get to somewhere I can be useful and along the way I get sucker punched by a scout. I try not to be an a$$hole on comms telling squadmates I need them to work with me. Hasn't worked so far. Whatever. It's fine. (Punches hole in wall.)
btw are you saying HMG has better range now or just that the new heavies can engage without support better due to their speed/shields/resists? |

Cal logi is the slayer logi... Brick tanked they are 1000 HP can wear a cloak and use rep nanohives while cloaked...
Gal Logi is awesome aswell... Good tank... only viable active scanner left in the game IMO. Has 4-5 sec window where scans are dark... then light it up again.
Min Logi's are the War point Heroes... With the TTk changes and the new heavies and commandos... You could spend most matches just picking people up, Repairing and giving ammo. You really wouldn't have to use you gun now if you didn't want to. But the suit is squishy under fire. Edit* Oh and went from 14 Stamina regen to 45 per second.. Full Stamina in 3 seconds? amazing.
Amarr Logi. Have to ask Shayz. :( Those Uplinks will always be the deciding factor to any match... It's still got a solid tank.. And a side arm.
No one walks through a good heavy anymore... And it's awesome.. It's like chromosome days when heavies made you go "OH NOES" and have to use range, tactics, headshots and straffing to fight them.
That right there limits the Logi's of being king of the hill for slayer and all around performance on the battlefield. |

What's so bad about going Scout in 1.8?  Cloaks aren't OP if you have any awareness...
Although, I did see a Proto Gal Logi earlier camping on Triage Hives with a Proto CR, scanning me even in my double damps and with my Cloak activated.  |

I have my server suit but I am waiting to see the changes they said they were doing before going all in again. don't want to spend all that isk just to find out they make my minm suit even squishier while expecting me to rep and thus become the primary target. Till then it's cheap scout fits and stacking isk that I'd normally lose running logi fits.
CCP you better nail 1.8, as it stands 1.7 is a total disaster.

I'm thinking the Scout would make a much better suit for tactical uplink placement.
Pre 1.8 I'd try to sneak into an area with my dampened Minmitar Logi, but it seems it would be far easier in a deeply dampened Scout who could also passive scan a wide area. I could drop 4-5 uplinks with the two equipment slots. |

my main went from minassault to minlogi, not for a slayer role, because i play support/pilot on that char. minassault was once good when it was the only self repping suit and shield tanking was the thing, i dont know why they have butchered the minmatars innate self rep for.

Maybe the reason why you think logis are gone is because they're not showing up at the kill feed now and actually doing what they're supposed to be doing... Supporting. All the logis you see now are the true logis who heal, deploy ammo and uplinks, revive, etc. there's a reason why there are all of a suddenly more scouts and heavies, the slayer logis can't exploit and cheat lol.
