For anyone complaining about Scouts you can stop before you begin. The fact that Scouts are now able to take-over a match and that that surprises people, points to the fact of how incredibly underpowered Scouts have been for at least the past 8 months.
Us true Scouts are not FoTM hoppers and we have been grinding it out, trying to get by as Scouts for a long time, the hardships we have faced have sharpened our skills immensely. Those new players who have skilled into Scout suits since 1.8 because they are FoTM hoppers are not able to effectively use Scouts to dominate they are weak willed and poorly disciplined.
Now, with minimally balanced TTK and Scout suits that actually have enough slots, PG, and CPU to be able to be used effectively, us Scouts who have been hardened by our vastly underpowered state now have the ability to use the skills and intelligence we have developed to dominate.
A squad of well organized Scouts should be able to take over a match, just like any well organized squad can take over a match. For a very long time now no matter how great the squad of Scouts was, they would lose 100% of the time to a well organized squad of any other suit. Now that Scouts have a chance to dominate in their own unique way points to balance existing in DUST. |

Agree with most points.
However, Scouts haven't seemed quite underpowered to me. The ones who used them regularly did so because they were able to leverage the full mobility advantage and were quite effective ninjas. It was a challenging role, but one that was more fun.
I for one, loved using the scout to circle and flank the unsuspecting red dots or letting my squad know where a more organized squad was forming. And I had the speed and mobility to really play havoc with enemies in tight spaces.
The most OP weapon on the Dust Battle Field:
One good logi, one rep tool, and a heavy.

I honestly just think ppl are mad about cloaks like i have seen some just out right stupid ppl like for instance someone shoots at me I cloak and they are like where did he go even though im just standing like 10ft infront of em the amount of face-desks I did yesterday man like jeez...

I, for one, have zero problem with the cloaks. I think it's actually quite a cool mechanic.
I do find it a little absurd that cloaked scouts can get similar EHP values to assaults though.
You have long since made your choice. What you make now is a mistake.

1.8 gave scouts 2 new excellent options, improved our current options by adding new slots (equipment plus hi or low slot).
1.7 wasn't a hard time for a scout, learn to play the role and you will excel. You're just a moron who thinks scouts should be the new Logi slayer when scouts in 1.7 could already dominate the match with a combination of kills, movement, and taking objectives.
Scouts were given plenty in 1.8 without cloaks. How many times as a scout did you think you escaped a kill and died around the corner, now that won't happen. Scouts don't have a hard time taking down players, and now they can get away, no need for a cloak.
There's no need for a cloak for a scout to excel. There's no reason for cloaks to be in the game period. If you can't play a scout properly then pick another class. If you want to be a slayer, run to the front lines and use your cloak to get a kill then you're not a scout. |

There's also no need for guns for people to kill each other, but the game would be a lot more boring without variety.
Anyone calling for a nerf now is just kneejerk reacting. Yeah, you. Also, I don't believe anyone consulted you to determine what is the "proper" use of a scout suit in Dust. Get off your high horse, you aren't important.

I'm all for scouts being more viable, but saying a scout should be able to take over a match is kind of ridiculous.
If your scout class is your strongest piece, what is the role of everyone else?

So your saying that since scouts were underpowered for 8 months (they really weren't) that justifies why they should be overpowered now and should stay that way, this logic makes no since to me, I've been running scout ever since I started this game and I have to admit the gal and cal scout are OP. Plus a sqaud of scouts shouldn't dominate a match that's just wrong |

The problem is not eHP built scouts, the problem are cloaks and how they change the need for any skill from the part of a scout. There is no need for positioning, flanking, stalking, they've taken the skill out of the scout class and all you bitches love it.
Scouts get a major boost in 1.8 but cloaks should not have been included. There is no argument i have seen by any of my fellow scouts that shows the class needs a cloak.
1. Hacking - check around you before you hack. Objectives can be taken without a cloak, using a cloak to hack now requires little skill, no need to check surrounding, and lessens a scouts true abilities.
2. Counter to Heavies - again not true, a scout isn't the only counter to a heavy nor should a cloak be the counter. Idiots just think they should be able to take down a 1500 eHP class with a 250 eHP one. Scout can take down heavies without a cloak, it's about positioning and picking the right spot. Now, scouts can just run at them, its disgusting. A scout isn't a counter, teamwork and good gameplay are. Sure a scout has the ability to get around and attack from behind, but a cloak again is not required for this. Scouts aren't slayer logi's. They are a niche role which combines movement and skill to get kills, take objectives and create havoc on outlier enemies.
3. Scouts need it due to their low eHP - so wrong. Amarr and Cal scouts are great light infantry and are currently dominating due to their (as other scouts) ability to stack eHP and hide in the futon lines with a cloak.
Cloaks don't add to the game, they subtract from it. They remove skillful play, they remove skillful positioning, and they are a crutch bad scout use because they think they should have a 6 k/d.
Any scout who feels cloaks are helping them compete they need to get out of the scout class. Your crutch is ruining the game. |

Scout got a significant boost in 1.8 - cloaks excluded. They just want scouts to be the new Logi slayer. |

As a 1.7 scout, scouts are clearly a bit OP now. Gallante specifically. It is too easy for gallante scout to get under ALL radar while still maintaining either speed (with decent shield), full tank, or great passive scanning (least tank but who cares you're undetectable and can see everyone other than other gallante scouts)
Cloak is a problem but not because of the cloak mechanic but because of on top of the other scout buffs scout get a 25% dampening active skill. Which means gallante need one slot, just one, for dampening.
The problem is this makes other scouts kinda pointless so soon gallante won't even be running that one dampener cause nobody will be left to scan them. |

Instead of nerfing EHP of heavies, why not just nerf tanking modules? The whole reason people brick tank is one module can give them almost 200HP. If one module can give you that much bang for your buck, why wouldnt you just stack the **** out of them.
You saw this with Logis, and now Scouts. The common denominator is really the tanking modules (mostly armor modules). The suits base stats are usually pretty balanced, its the way people fit these things that make them OP, and it really starts with tanking being the biggest bang for your buck slot wise.
This sums up 75% of the forum posts.

Scouts don't need that innate dampening effect of the cloak. I think that is its strongest asset, definitely affecting the game negatively.

And I had the speed and mobility to really play havoc with enemies in tight spaces. This. I switched to scouts for a challenge since people were always complaining about them and loved them. AA hurt a bit but I've adapted as I'm sure the rest of you have. I think if the cloak was taken away it would rid the matches of a lot of FOTM scouts while the rest if us enjoy the racial parity and general buffs to the scout suits.
Did any old scouts switch between the scout suits in 1.8? I'm pretty sure I'll stick with minmatar/gallente in the end |

Did I write 1 word about cloaks? NO. Learn to read you brain dead ignoramus. Who are you arguing against, because it clearly isn't me. I would honestly be fine with cloaks not existing, the reason Scouts have been UP is because of a lack of slots, PG, and CPU, I have and continue to use stealth to dominate with or without a cloak.
