they are working very inconsistently right now, and thats whats making cal/gal scouts so much better than other suits. They don't expand to full field angle, they dont actually scan whats in its radius, and the things that it does scan have a 3 second delay before they show up as scanned

Ive experienced the same issues, most scanners have their "vision area" reduced by 20-50 degrees. The CreoDron Flux Active Scanner (90 degree 200m range proto scanner) gives a tiny sliver of vision 20-40 degrees maximum.
The equipment should work as advertised and not need to be augmented by a suit skill to get to the equipment advertised stats. Seems a lot like bait and switch marketing, though fixing things to work as advertised is rarely high on CCP's priority list.

I actually think they were functioning like this before 1.8 but the snapshot changes have made it a lot more noticeable.
You have long since made your choice. What you make now is a mistake.

Ive been using the CreoDron Flux Active Scanner since before the update and the scan angle was about 90 degrees. It may have been a little less, but if it was it wasnt any less than 80 degrees.
Getting around 20-40 now is just pathetic, almost not even worth running.

thats why it needs a buff. Im thinking doubling the time that you are scanning for, and lowering the cool down by 10%
