No one seems to know and I am curious, the devs seem to be out now so how about some info on the new chevron.

I see red ones, blue ones and green ones. They aren't always cloaked and they don't seem to denote frame size. I thought they were squadless mercs for a while them a merc in my squad was one. I am very interested in what they are supposed to mean or why we have them.

I hope they are red sprinkles, they taste better and red is for winners.

v<>^, I see them in all directions and I don't think they are frame size because I have seen different frame sizes showing up as >. I have had people in my squad beside me, reds across the map and blues doing whatever blues do with them. The only thing that seems to be consistent is that the open end seem to be the direction they are facing.

You mean just equipped but not always activated?

The tip is the direction people are facing, so you can tell if you are sneaking up on people or if your allies are in the same direction as yourself. If you only see that, it means someone is cloaked but you can see their arrow. Nope. It's the opposite, the concave side is the direction people are facing. It also doesn't indicate a cloaked enemy.
You can see them scanning with the AS on the overview map and the AS graphic comes out of the open end.

I am not saying any of these are right or wrong because the new chevron could be badly bugged. I want to know what CCP intended it to be.

Oh, so it is showing their field of vision rather than an arrow point. Neat. I think it does mean if an ally is cloaked. I have seen a lot of arrows come running by me on the map and have seen cloaked allies. It sure would be nice if when a patch happened, there could be information given to the players. You know, almost like a list or notes of all changes. Would sure be nice to have explanations on how they CCP changed their game. It is frankly wrong that you have to ask other players to determine on a developer's changed stuff.
It is fun to speculate on small things that don't really matter like this. Gives us something to do next to QQ.
