So today I was shooting at this cloaked enemy and noticed that hitting them didn't deactivate their cloak. In fact they only de-cloaked after I killed em'.
So the point I'm getting at is, are cloaks working as intended and if so, should they not deactivate after getting hit?
Please discuss.

Yes they're working as intended.
No you shouldn't decloak someone when you shoot them.
You can see them well enough without needing them to decloak. |

I was on the fence with this but the more I played the more I like that they don't decloak. They sacrificed something to fit that cloak and a stray round shouldn't decloak them. I had a running battle under the mushroom building with a scout and he would have died quick if his cloak wasn't on. I thought he jumped off but in fact he just stood still in the shadows. He decloaked and dropped me, luckily my mate with a needle brought me back and we killed the scout. It was very fun and I enjoyed dieing to him and for that reason alone I don't think they should be decloaked by damage.

I hope they will add a damage threshold, beyond that you will decloak, lose the cloak for a vagrant bullet would not be funny.

I can see how they programed this to allow firing while cloaking. You can totally see most scouts in this game. Plus once the cloak is below 50% you can't recloak and are easily killed.
Still, we have players that are really good so the firing while cloaked isn't needed for them.

Naw. 99% of cloak users are scouts anyway, with a ton of fitting just in the cloak. if you start damaging them they are halfway dead already. Not like they can fight you back while cloaked, they have no guns in that mode. I killed at least 2 people while invisible last night, and I was killed several times myself while my cloak was running. Just get used to watching for blue flare and you'll do fine.

I have a 650 eHP scout fit able to cloak, i'm not so low on HP, (with that fit) but generally yes, if they shoot to a scout he is halfway dead. But i still think that after a certain % of damage you should decloak.

Ive got used to it to shot half my HMG clip down a corridor when i see that shimmer of a cloak. Works for me so far. The new survival rule number 1: if encountering something unknown, first shot and ask questions later.

Plagiarized! Well as an Amarr I can say "Kill them all and let God sort them out". Was pretty sure it was both an modern era quote taken from also a 12/13th century quote...But to get back on topic I've been seeing more ppl tossing flux grenades in objectives and more than usual since the new patch. More like I've seen 4x the number of flux grenade users in matches last night for me. What I don't know is, does hitting someone with flux decloak them as well because it actually makes sense to do so since it is a flux grenade and they knock out equipment so why not a cloak? |

I prefer splash damage from the mass driver cause scouts cannot evade it with their speed |

From a real world perspective an EMP only really works on unshielded electronics. Without a proper physical shield to route the EMP to ground all electronics fry, that would go for dropsuits as a whole and not just the shield that protects armor. A piece of equipment thrown on the ground may be missing a robust physical shield.
Other than that I am not too sure.

I run ck.0 scout with 616hp, adv. cloak, RE proto magsec + STD magsec. good fit to defend the letter. But still I'm a ck.0 logistic with hives. I try learn to use proto RR also because CR is OP.
