If I could get a Dev response that would be great.
Anyways, I'm trying to figure out what to spec into. I don't care about fittings or stats (too much), just how the suit looks. I've got my choices down to either the Caldari Scout or the Gallente Scout, but at this point, I can't find anything good about the Caldari Scout. Maybe I just suck, but having only 1 low slot module really doesn't help much. So, what do you guys think?
Caldari, do you like how her suit looks, or is Gallente the better looking one?
Now for the (possible) glitch. I was looking at the market trying to see what the new suits looked like and I noticed that all of the basic light frames for Caldari (straight up to proto) could be bought and used without any skill requirements. Is this because of my race? If so, cooool!!! Thanks CCP!
btw, this isn't in the glitch forum area because I care more about people's opinions on which scout suit looks better. ^_^;

Some guy in local chat yesterday said you only needed to skill Caldari Scout to level 3 to get the prototype dropsuit also. Unconfirmed. |

yeah, it's weird. I have no skills in any dropsuits right now and the market is showing everything from basic up to prototype with a green checkmark. o_O
I haven't bought any because I don't want to be stuck with expensive suits I can't use if it turns out this is a glitch.

Personally, I use and look to the adv tier for indicative performance of a weapon/suit. The standard imo is just the there as a disposable cost more effective option.

But anyways, which do you guys think look better? Caldari or Gallente Scout? I want to spec into the one that looks best. Gallente has a really cool power ranger look to it, with form fitting armor. Caldari is more stocky, can't say I really like the torso part, but the helmet is really cool, and once you go into Caldari Scout it gets these cute blue pants that remind me of Resident Evil's S.T.A.R.S. uniform. Help, advice wanted.

Caldari has a bit of fetish going on with that chest plate, but i would take it over the Gallente if just for pure aesthetics. Personally i like the way the female Amarr Scout turned out. Got an athletic thing going there.... Must be all the marathons.
Edit: We are talking about the female scout models right?

Edit: We are talking about the female scout models right? lol, yeah, just the scout suits (although I suppose I could spec into Caldari Assault just as a wtf moment). I'm glad someone likes the Amarr Scout because the Amarr need some love too. It's a nice suit, very comfy, but I don't like the head. It reminds me of a hot dog, somehow.
But yeah, I had a dream where I was in a Caldari Scout uniform so maybe it's destiny? o_O Everytime I look at it, I always think "Jill Valentine."

Gallente female scout still looks best IMO.
Caldari has a nice chest but the legs are a bit chunky.
Haven't seen the Amarr scout yet.

Minmatar female scout as always, looks like a boy. Lol, yeah, when I first saw the Minmatar Scout I was like "nope!" and never even tried them out past a milita suit to walk around my merc room.
But you're right about Gallente. I don't know, maybe I should hold on to my SP for awhile and just run militia suits until I decide. I have a feeling we will never ever get a dropsuit respec again so I should make my decision with a lot of care.
Gallente Suit: Pros- Very cool looking, awesome helmet, form fitting suit , really like her boots, generally has pretty awesome color schemes. oh, and better slot loadout and 3 hp regen.
Cons- uhm, none really.
Caldari: Pros- Really awesome helmet, with that trademark Caldari eye glow. At Scout 1 gets these really neat colored pants that make the whole thing remind me of Jill Valentine. Will probably not get played as much as the other scouts, so I can look unique on the battlefield (maybe).
Cons- has the worst slot loadout of all the scouts in terms of self-sufficiency (but is pretty good as a team player). Overall, has really bland color schemes.

I saw an old video for Dust floating around on here, where many of the mercs weren't wearing helmets. When you mentioned Jill Valentine in regards to the Caldari Scout, this is what i thought of when looking at my own Amarr: http://www.gamer.ru/system/attached_images/images/000/432/757/normal/wasp2.jpg Really, really wish we could customise our mercs now. Oh, and jet packs.
I actually like the slots for the Cal to be honest. Lends itself nicely to either pointman style recon, or long range spotting through a scope.

utilitarian IS bland. (._.) but I went ahead and skilled into Caldari Scout anyways (mostly because of the dream I had). And I love it. lol. I died a horrible amount of times because I kept trying to play like my old Gal Scout. Finally I slapped on a nano injector and repair gun cause I needed to recoup some of my losses. I wouldn't mind being able to change the paint job on my suits, but I think we should have to run what they look like so you can tell what you are about to get yourself into at a glance on the battlefield. IMO the gallente basic frame proto looks the coolest for a female, all black and red, or the quafe suits, or the black eagle. The paint job on a proto suit is meh to me, but I favorite one of my black eagles so when I am walking around in my merc quarters I like the look.
As far as what you use to play, I like to take into consideration the looks too, but it really comes down to what you want to do with your suit. To get to proto level on any suit costs around 2.5 mil SP. That is a long term comitment. Also, you really are going to want to focus on one cause the bonus sucks until you hit proto, range amp, profile damp, reduced cost for cloak, all that.
So I went back to Gallente cause that's what I had and I am happy, the inate armor rep is really nice and the slot layout gives me way more options with the standard suit. I was looking hard at cal scout. But a cal scout vs a gallente scout can both go at it, but if you stack damps a gal can get under a cal scan, but a cal cannot get under a gal precision.

They announced this in the dev thread. They are hotfixing the missing skill requirements.
Also, Cal suit looks like its wearing kneehigh blue jeans.

Oh, I know that the Gallente Scout suit is more versatile than the Caldari Scout suit; better slot loadouts, bonuses, and the armor rep. But I wanted to pick my "look" first and then see what I can do with it. It's not a very smart way of playing (especially since SP is so precious) but that's just kind of how I like to play video games.
I even own a standard Gallente Scout BPO, but went with Cal because of how it looks.
on a side note, I got kicked off my friend's xbox because I spent 2 hours creating a character on Oblivion, and then spent most of my time hunting down clothes and armor instead of completing quests. lol.

So you're right, Caldari isn't bland. It's just that Gal are much more varied. Hopefully in the future CCP will release more color schemes (and a quafe Cal? I can only hope).
