To be honest, I see no real benefit to using them. After playing as a profile dampened MinLogi for the last half year, I've grown accustomed to flanking and staying away from the view of my opponents. Cloaks do not supplement this style of play for me.
Although I have only skilled into the STD version, I noticed that I had no real use for it during the matches I played. To me, they're nothing but a waste of CPU/PG. In fact, the only instance I can think of that made me say, "Hey, these are not so bad," is when I needed to retreat into cover to passively regen my armor.
Cloaking is indeed an interesting aspect to combat, but I rather use my equipment slots on things that will help my team win. Uplinks have proven to be more useful for my type of play, and so I will stick with them. |

Also being able to avoid tank spam with them is invaluable to me. It's not the duration of the cloak that I'm concerned with, but its application. My style of play revolves around being mobile and and untraceable. I do this already by use of complex profile damps, kincats, and regulators. I don't need a cloak to steathily blast someone's face off. |

ThePrinceOfNigeria wrote:For applications use Cloak to ambush, avoid groups(as I can see everyone while being completely invisible already due to Damp, Extender, and Precision Enhancer), stalk single or double targets. Really its best application is just to be patient and wait just off high traffic areas where a lone wolf or small group might go. Makes it super easy to run in and hack an enemy CRU also as they don't even know its hacked until it switches color. I already do all of this without cloaks, and I don't have to be patient and wait. I rush in, kill reds and run off into the sunset to see another day. |
