I can't seem to get it right, can't do decent in a close up fight cuz my hp is s****. And the heavy machine guns bullets don't reach far enough to do any decent damage.
Any tios from heavies around here?

People are running it like a gank heavy.. with a burst HMG... Burst HMG's are much like shotguns.. have to pick and time your shots and its nasty.
Laser resistance isn't helping alot currently.... Maybe it will help you rush SCR and laser commandos eventually..
The armor resistance does help when fighting shotgunners...
But all around the resistances on the Heavy with what is used on the battlefield isn't complimenting the suit much. |

Just went 27/2 against GAC with it. Give it a try. I could go toe-to-toe against Amarr and Gallente Sentinels. Work on your strafing and you'll outlast them no problem.

Try the glitched out Forge Gun, at least 50% of your BEST shots reach your target... Yet at least when you do, you can rack in some GOOD warpoints like +75 every other shot....or other, other shot, orrrrrr otherrrr other other shot..... god dam is the FORGE GUN JAMMED AGAIN... x_@

Don't go relying on your HP. It's the fastest Sentinel out there and you've got a burst HMG to slap on it.
Ever seen those squads that sat on a hill & thought to yourself "if only I could drop a HMG in the middle of them, that would really cause some carnage". Enter the ugly duckling. Slap a cardiac regulator on and you can flank in scarily short time. Having the Burst is a must. Even for taking on groups this is often the best choice, since every pull of the trigger can take someone out, and you can drop two or three before they even realise what's happened.
The HP of this Sentinel is largely negated by its larger hitbox, so build around what you want to do with the weapon, rather than what you want the suit to do.

So been getting use to how the suit works out and getting the hang of it. Running around in a heavy suit sometimes isn't exactly what I planned when putting SP into heavy suits but it's going fine so far.

lol they screwed over forge gunners with this patch, it takes 6 shots to kill installations now instead 2 or 3... |

My fit is to maximise recovery. I can survive an engagement then slip away really fast to recover. Then reposition to come back again.
Right now I'm rocking the regular HGM (i.e not a assault / burst) but I've actually had more success with the assault. The only reason I don't right now is because I want to get my Ion pistol up as I think it will compliment my fit better (sounds quite beastly too)
When playing defence - My emphasis is to weaken them at range as they try to breach. If they break in then pull back and wait to support the counter offensive.
When playing offensively - I start the fight a little sooner than a regular HMG. If the damage is going well then just continue. If they take cover then I reposition. I don't charge straight in. I use the extra time to approach from a different angel and recover more health.

Skilled to LV5 Sent
Adv min sent Complex damage on the left complex cardiac + advanced kincat on the right LV4 Burst HMG Syndicate SMG Flux nades
I had several mexican standoffs against amarr sentinels with it... hilarious... you need to aim at the melon though!
On a sidenote, the min commando is my new logi... running a proto repper on it and if the heavy in front of me fails, it's MD in the melon time... LOL
didn't have that much fun in ages... |

definitely loving this fit on adv min sent frame 2x com kin catz, 2x com hvy dmg mods, basic flux, basic magsec, mo burst or skinkin burst hmg, its all about hit n run like said before. it doesnt have the staying power like gallante and amarr, so as soon as your shield drop its time to pull out and find another flank to attack. |

Is your HMG proficiency 5? I ran around slaughtering people in an ambush, man.
All you have to do is make the most of that speed. Strafe back and forth with hipfire.

I think the Minmitar Heavy is a BEAST! It's really fast, so it feels like a medium frame with a HMG. Just make sure to get to cover when your health gets low.
I mainly use the commando. Combat riffle and mass driver :)
The next build better be good. CCP don't mess up.

You're also going to need to get your biotics, shield skill at the very least, flux grenades, and a sidearm all maxed out.

My Toxin AR was messing them up pretty well, but I doubt they were seriously proto'd out.

Because I didn't know how I was supposed to run the minmatar sentinel against all these caldari heavies. The Ak.0 has a resist to HMGs so at least I'm able to do something in it.
I completely forgot about the burst, and the next time I get on I'll be wrecking with it just like I do with my Ak.0, only pulling my boundless out against waves of heavies.

OMG great idea! I'm min logi and was thinking min commando for secondary. That would fit me perfectly. I'm a little concerned about the lowest hitpoints of any heavy frame while still being saddled with a bigger hitbox and the worst precision and profile. |

The tunnel betwheen the supply depot and the node in the big research facility is also a blast for that setup.
Just put shields in the highs, and a self repper in the lows. I did 2000 Wp mostly repping heavies one match... 50% of the time I didn't even get points for that... LOL
Put a MD in the main slot (right weapon slot) that you have the best anti scout weapon ready for those pesky cloakers...

Getting use to that mass driver with that commando suits and it's pretty good

IMHO mass driver is not the best against shotgun scouts due to blast damage. Maybe mass driver to support the heavies when not repping them and a shotgun to deal with scouts? |

I wonder what the problem with it is though, it must be something to do with the coding as it's worked perfectly fine since they changed it last time, that to me suggests they made some change to the weapon specifically to mess up the numbers, but I wasn't aware of any change to the FG in 1.8?
And they aren't necessarily changing the HP for the heavies at all, it was just an idea that they'll more than likely not follow up on.
Has there been any announcement from CCP in terms of what the issue is with FG's firing specifically?
