People complain about the Heavy being OP right now, yet no one seems to complain about the super-speed Shotgun Scouts that can 3-shot a Heavy, have nearly 1000eHP and their Cloaking fields that render them silent. Cloak, run around and find a Heavy, drop cloak, shoot the Heavy 3 times until dead, re-cloak and flee. Repeat before the Cloak needs to recharge. Heavy shoots back? HMG does no damage due to bugged hit detection.
Who's idea was it to give the Scouts 2 Equipment slots yet they removed the same thing from Assaults during the Uprising patch so that they didn't clash with Logi suits?
Right now, a Heavy's HP means nothing since we lose upto 25% of both our armour and shields the moment we spawn due to the damn de-sync glitch. On top of that, we're not even invulnerable between spawn and decloak now, so camping Cloaked Shotgunners can pick us off at CRU before we can even blink since shooting a cloaked Heavy as they spawn drops their cloak while the Scout can throw theirs on and run away under fire. This isn't an issue limited to Heavies but damn do we suffer for it.
So yeah, never mind that we only have 2 Heavy Weapons to pick from, one anti-infantry and one AV, with no A-I weapons which are effective against Shields (we have t make do with Flux Grenades.) Never mind that our only AV option was nerf'd to hell to the point where Tankers slap on a Hardener and laugh at the Heavy tickling them or Dropship pilots hit orbital height before you can charge a second shot. Never mind that a Heavy is slow moving, reps slow and needs a Logi or two be effective. Never mind that the Forge Gun is bugged to the point that it won't even fire. The Heavy obviously needs to lose a huge amount of HP so the Assault players can feel better and kill them easier.

Even if we can't stop the nerf from taking pace, we can at least try and reduce the amount of HP we lose.
If CCP were to remove the HP in small amounts, like 5% max per hotfix, they could see how things play out using actual play data from across the server and then decide if another reduction or a buff (if they overshot the mark) is needed to bring Heavies in-line.

The new heavies do need a Nerf
I've lost 5 advance Amar heavy suits and weapons to militia heavies and hmgs
I msged one that beat me and he was running all basic/militia gear on it yet beat me.......I also was the first to fire since I was behind him
I've taken down several Advance Heavies with a basic Gallente Sentinel fitted with Militia Modules and a basic HMG. This is nothing new, I used to do this all the time in 1.7 with the basic Amarr Sentinel. Just because the enemy uses Militia and Basic gear doesn't mean he's not rocking a maxed Proficiency skill.

Sentinel's with Light Weapons have the advantage of ridiculous amounts of HP and damage resistances compared to Commandos. Couple that with the range advantages Light Weapons have over Heavy Weapons (and the fact that the RR and CR were FotM) and it's easy to see why there were so many pseudo-Heavy users. We never had that many until the RR and CR showed up.
On the flip side, a Sentinel with a Shotgun makes me laugh.

I don't think CCP are gonna nerf the Heavy. Not until they "get more data" from people playing the game, and people arent' complaining so much about the Heavies now that people are getting to know the new suits and adjusting to the nerfs and buffs of 1.8
