So a few weeks back I made a critique of who changing Proficiency on the shotgun from +3% to rate of fire To +3% damage to shields was a direct nerf tot he shotgun.
I made this nifty little table to summarize the post (the post if anyone cares).
It examines the TTK on the basic shotgun and proto shotgun, with and without proficiency.
To compare, I also made a table using the Assault Rifle, because they have the same damage profile.

I never got around to finishing the comparison, but there is enough there to show:
The change in TTK is about 1-3 bullets more than before.
If you are not noticing a difference in TTK, then it is because the people you are facing right now are not using damage mods, and they were not using damage mods last patch as well.
The only time, TTK is noticeably changed is on the PC/Proto-stomper level, where people would use 2-3 damage mods on their weapons.

I see a dps nerf for sure, but the shotgun isnt really used for its dps either.
The new change nudges it into more of a burst role than it was before, but at a cost for sure. |

Does this means, even with the breach there is no possible one or two shot killing ? |

Remember people, just because your weapon cost more than twice as much as theirs, SP and ISK wise, don't mean it should be better.
This is balance. |
