A "Known Issues" list that is about as long as the patch notes supporting the release.
Old bugs popping back up from ages ago. Hit detection screwy. Lack of effort, lack of anything and you are actually taking the **** out of your player base at this point. Well whats left of it anyway.
You think you can just casually release this untested garbage? I expect some problems but this is ridiculous.
We thought 1.7 was bad.... this patch has all of the same problems of 1.7 with the added horse crap of 1.8 LMAO. Its actually really amusing in a totally f**ked up way.
Yes I am mad, but more than that, disappointed. Thanks for the joke CCP I am sure memes will be created in your dishonour.

It's sad when a 20% hp nerf for brand new suits is on the table not two hours after release.
I am thoroughly convinced that there is no internal testing.

I know CCP are notorious for bugs and problems, I expect that. The problem is they are rubbing literally half finished stuff in our face and laughing at us!
My problem is hit detection is worse than before, my problem is they didnt even remotely test this. My problem is that forge guns have issues where there were none before. My problem is still there is no balance.
My problem is this game. I'm not one of these to say "Warrghhhh I quit" but to be honest I think I might just do that. Feel free to claim what ever I have.

I'm pretty sure they aren't laughing, because bugfixing means work for them. Everybody wants patch day to go by smoothly. And CCP probably did test this: On their dev server. But I'm pretty sure releasing the update is a bit more complicated than just Copy & Pasting it onto the public server.
And honestly: If you're looking for balance you're playing the wrong game. Dust will change. It always will. There will always be more items added. Old items nerfed or buffed. Dust is too big to be ever completely balanced.

This also makes me wonder what kind of an a**hat programmed Dust 514 in the first place. It doesn't seem to be a matter of testing, but more like a really flawed design in the structure of the coding.
It seems that it's not just a matter of the developers to open up a file and re-write some numbers (the way you can with a clear and structured sourcecode) but something needlesly complicated, otherwise glaring issues such as these wouldn't occur after every update.
That added and completely new content suffer from bugs is understandable. But that current content gets completely ****** up and bugs that went away before comes back, can only be ascribed to a badly written sourcecode that isn't as clear and userfriendly as it should be. |

Every company and every game has bumpy patch days. If this was vanilla wow you'd spend 6 hours downloading the patch, 4 hours in server queue and upon actually getting in you'd be booted due to lag and the servers would remain in that unplayable state for 3-7 days. In fact recent wow patches have been pretty similar.
Ccp patch days aren't that bad. Give it a day or two |

Or I will just play other games that dont suffer from this level of failure? (I just want Dust to work, I would love to have back chromosome where this game was the best)

Well. Tell me a game which doesn't suffer from stuff like this then. It's patch day. And honestly: Even though 1.8 really isn't the best patch day, we already had one that broke matchmaking completely. Nobody could play at all. I rather have a list of 50 small bugs which aren't gamebreaking than one big problem that doesn't allow anyone to play.

Really: Some patch days are worse, others go by fine. I think the biggest problem CCP has is that there is no testserver. So they have their own dev server to test stuff. But so much can go wrong when releasing that into the wild.
So I think this one is on Sony.
Here I have to disagree, working in the QA section by myself this is just lack of QA. Sadly QA is the first thing that gets stripped when times is running out before a release, its either that or the QA on CCPs side (if there is any) does not know what they are doing. Remember we are out of beta and this state of quality is hardly acceptable.
Yes bugs occour and not hunting bugs is sometimes really tricky but reading through the known issues most of them are quit obvious and this is a strong indicator for missing QA efforts... |

As a multi-decade IT guy I'm wondering about the base structure of the code. Some posts refer to hard coded values not in the database. That means code hacks to recognize and process the non-standard variables. Any time you add custom patches you introduce more points of failure and make the code more difficult to understand and modify.
Long term projects tend to accrete these sort of hacks over time and eventually become unmaintainable. One simple change affects some custom patch and breaks something completely unrelated. Simple changes need to change hard coded values on top of changing the data record. Eventually the last guy who understood the spaghetti code leaves and the new guys are afraid to change anything because they don't know what it will do.
Either the application gets a permanent code freeze or is completely rewritten to get a clean code base.
The number of issues in 1.8 suggests CCP is experiencing this issue after a couple years of continuous development. |

That refers to program input, not really to degradation of the code base over time. |
