Correct me if my information is out of date but Dirt Nap Squad were / are just a bunch of quite well known but quite small in influence bunch of Covert Ops dudes that I flew with back in SF in EVE.
What is there relevance here? Why have the big corps banded up with DNS? I am rather confused but intrigued none the less.

Logistically - a single team can break into MH and DNS can slap themselves silly trying to flip it back - if they can't win all they're doing is feeding you more ISK.
It's a shame people are so demoralized that effort is put on the back burner in favor of tears. Luckily, I don't share this view.

The last "leader" to emerge in MH was Zatara, with his quest to bring down AE... Nothing like completely selling out and going back on your word and reverting back to being a worker ant... Their aren't any true leaders in DnS, its a social impossibility; silly humans.
New leadership can certainly come up in MH, whether they are successful or not is different story. As DnS will try to convert them or crush them.
But it's easy to sit back and tell others to "step up" when you hold the keys over everyone's head. If the roles were reversed, you'd be just as ill-fated as anyone else trying to succeed in MH. Prime Example is 0.H. You can't tell me that 0.H is not a great team, and has talent, and ability. Yet they have a target on their heads, so all the resources they have can't amount to much right now. But you'll be seeing them again; count on it.
DnS will last only as long as: 1. CCP Opens new land 2. Your A-Team players get bored or drawn to another game, like last time, because CUBS is not a true leader, but only as good as his players. He can't mold, shape, or train anyone. If he could, EoN would still be going to this day. It like Phil Jackson claiming to be the best coach of the NBA. Pretty easy when you have the money to buy Micheal Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Shaw, etc... Has he ever turned a team of nobodies into somebodies? Answer: no. 3. The vast majority rises up against you; all be it not likely. 4. You fall apart from within due to power shifts, egos, greed, etc.
Either way; enjoy the train while it's going, because eventually it'll come to a stop, and you better hope that MH lets you back in PC a 3rd time.

no leaders in DnS? are you serious? between AE and NS we've held 50% of molden heath for going on 6 months now. up until two weeks ago it was just us and as far as im concerned these guys are just along for the ride.
no one has had as much consistancy as AE and no alliance, not even EoN has stayed on top for half as long as RA/DNS. watch the throne, bitches.

A lot has changed since the EoN donut that's for sure.
Things like player skill points allowing beast players to specialize into even more roles than before.
Growth of the ringer mentality, and notoriety of key players who are ready willing and able to play for whoever pays (I dont think this mentality was as rampant back in the EoN days as it is now, tho I may be mistaken on that).
An abundance of harvested isk which allows for the payment of said ringers, almost indefinitely.
Placement of spies in multiple corps allowing the sharing of information regarding planned attacks
Further bleeding of great players from mid-tier corps to the current donut.
____
I would go out on a limb and say that the current donut to the naked eye is twice as strong/dominating as EoN was in its prime (since a good chunk of the current donut IS the remaining top talent from EoN, and then some)
____
Should be fun

What I've heard a lot of DNS say is that they wanted to clean up those that abused locking districts and I've seen them attack those that haven't done so or only did cause they just bought a district and the seller locked it for them. So what is the 'true' reason DNS has taken over 80% of Molden Heath.

Current PC mechanics pretty much prevent any and all competition.
DNS pretty much did what any powerful conglomerates would do if put in the situation: consolidate power. This game's playerbase of "elite" players has been a constant recycling of the same 100 (+/- 50) or so people that have been vying back and forth since PC's inception.
As such, good players will typically seek to play with other good players and so you see this gradual consolidation of people worth their salt. It's unfortunate for the rest of the playerbase trying to break in because not only do they remain outmatched in terms of experience and skill, but the mechanics that would allow corps to break into PC (clone packs) are completely broken.
Trying to take a district with 120 clones has become borderline impossible because reattacks are simply not possible. And even assuming you win the initial battle, you have to consecutively reattack for 2-3 days and hope you can have the necessary team online for those days and at the same time win. Not only that, then you have corps like Nyain San that have their timers at ridiculous hours (4:00 - 6:00 AM EST) making any hopes of attacks unfeasible.
In short, PC is broken due to CCP's sheer incompetence in designing a working system that doesn't reward a "rich get richer" mentality.

I've always figured there should be different offers of clone packs. 120, 180, 240, 360, 450. And as you buy up, the price sky rockets. 36mil, 80mil, 150mil, 250mil, 400mil.
Not real numbers or prices, just throwing it out there. |

I find it a little odd, that the end-game consists of being removed from said end-game...
PC is no doubt broken, but that's because the game itself is broken, and not growing. The guys that have put up with it up until this point finally reached their goal of being able to step in a brand new game and take it over before it ever got a chance to gain beyond 100,000 players.
I've never topped a game that had more than 200,000 players. I've come close with Halo 2. But to top a game that has 4-5,000 people playing it worldwide at any given time...
Maybe I'm getting old, but whoop-dee-doo-da... then again, if I was 10 years younger and in my prime... ... ... I STILL WOULDN'T GIVE A F*CK ABOUT THIS POS GAME!

Dr PepperPoP wrote:-snip- It's not just clone packs, it's the entire system that ultimately appropriates the clone pack as "Step 1" for a corp wanting to assault a district.
Having multiple tiers of clone packs would put a bandaid on it, but the entire PC scheme is kind of a gimmick right now. They still haven't addressed lag issues despite a year of persistent cries to do something about it. Their only hope is probably to scrap it and start from scratch if they want to see it grow.
I'm interested to see what Fanfest will provide, but not very hopeful. CCP has a reputation for glamorous promises with little delivery.
