Yeah, things are going to suck.
To put it simply, N-F got tired of being smashed for a week in PC by FA. So, they decided to blue up with them so there would be no more competition (as RND left for the donut as well). FA accepted the offer, as it was the best thing for them to do.
So, yes, there will be more protostomping, people will QQ like never before. You thought district locking was bad? Just wait.

 Of course, N-F would give a different account on what happened, but most of FA would tell you pretty much the same thing.
