What's your advice? Thanks in advance! Not the AR, it's bad as it is and getting even worse. ScR is a solid choice if you plan to go into Amarr assault. This statement is just wrong. The assault rifle is getting nerfed less than every other rifle. This means that in effect it is getting a buff. When compared to the performance of other rifles, the AR will be performing better than it currently does. The AR is a bit underwhelming in the DPS department but it does have great damage per clip which could make a big difference in a higher TTK environment. Also as someone else also said the damage profile is pretty good and that will also be more significant post 1.8. The AR is currently underperforming and that may remain the case however for a number of factors this should be at the least improving if not fully fixed in 1.8. This post is just wrong. Do the math. ScR beats all. The AR is not fixed but does somewhat OK when engaging under 40-50 meters, not great in the range it should dominate, just OK. I'm a loyal Matari and even I'm considering going ScR. Your theoretical is good, but you're lacking the practicality drawbacks that the scrambler rifle has by nature. If all you care about is Alpha damage, quick bursts of high DPS, then the ScR is king. Yes, you'll win most one-on-one fights, but in a protracted engagement where constant DPS and suppressive fire are more important than high DPS, the ScR starts to lag behind. You have to pause firing to avoid overheating, while any of the other rifles can keep shooting. If you actually do overheat, you're out of combat for 5 seconds, which can be life or death in some cases. The ScR works great at range, but in close quarters where you have to spam the trigger in order to stay alive, the Combat Rifle or Rail Rifle will easily beat you out if they have a reasonable amount of EHP.
