From Wikipedia:
"There are few surviving sources on Caligula's reign, although he is described as a noble and moderate ruler during the first six months of his rule. After this, the sources focus upon his cruelty, sadism, extravagance, and intense sexual perversity, presenting him as an insane tyrant. While the reliability of these sources has increasingly been called into question, it is known that during his brief reign, Caligula worked to increase the unconstrained personal power of the emperor (as opposed to countervailing powers within the principate). He directed much of his attention to ambitious construction projects and notoriously luxurious dwellings for himself. However, he initiated the construction of two new aqueducts in Rome: the Aqua Claudia and the Anio Novus. During his reign, the Empire annexed the Kingdom of Mauretania and made it into a province. In early 41 AD, Caligula became the first Roman emperor to be assassinated, the result of a conspiracy involving officers of the Praetorian Guard, as well as members of the Roman Senate and of the imperial court. The conspirators' attempt to use the opportunity to restore the Roman Republic was thwarted: on the same day the Praetorian Guard declared Caligula's uncle Claudius emperor in his place."

There is no such person anymore. QG would be possible, but i'm sure he's got his own plate to take care of.
This Donut is probably the strongest one to date, and the community is at it's weakest.
I love how you try to separate yourselves from the community, like you're better than us all. Newsflash, sunshine. Community is a sum, not a division. But you keep sitting in your ivory tower, smoking your pipe. Be glad that you have deep pockets to pay those doing violence on your behalf. Caligula would be proud. And oddly, I can see your fate reflected in his. Enjoy your spoils.
They smoke pipe up there? nope still to lazy
Who wants some?

Hey, Soda, you may be brilliant at Dust, but you know little of Roman history.
Caligula wasn't a great conqueror (Mauretania, his only conquest, was hardly of any economic or strategic value) or leader.
He was, however, known for his ego (comparing himself to and even publically dressing himself as a god) and was assassinated by his own army -- and therein may be a lesson for you.
After all, history has a way of repeating itself.
Take care....Leadfoot |

You need to brush up on history Sota You actually may want to read up on him, that's a very shallow interruption of his reign.
You forgot to add he put his people into starvation by using all the money Rome earned on excessive gifts and events(For a while anyways), stirred up some serious religious trouble, and attempted to assassinate, replace, and be done with most of the senate and ruling body of Rome.
All the while expanding west, beginning the occupation of Britannia, giving bonuses by wage to roman people increasing livelihood, secured all of romans boarders and prevented any major wars, his governmental policies were both productive and helpful to the people, and pardoned the many strange crimes Emperor Tiberious put on people.
He was insane, selfish, and crude. But he got **** done. Except prepare Rome for future leaders. |

But I can say I barely know what Caligua did beyond what i read in a book.
Surprisingly I remembered quiet a bit - but the part of his involvement with religion I hardly remember. |

This blue doughnut has literally JUST formed and everyone is already rubbing their nipples on the monitor in defiance vowing to take down their almighty oppressors. It doesn't work like that. Let's bring back some good old espionage perhaps? No amount of rallied troops or crazed Hispanic armies can topple the giant that now reigns. It will require intelligence and patience, not war room threads and mass armies. If that was what ruled in Dust then you'd all bend the knee to ContraBanJoe.
And if you're butt-hurt about them making so much ISK, just remember the only thing ISK is good for in the end is suits. I only have 150,000,000 but compared to people with billions in their wallet I am no more disadvantaged than them. Once you hit a certain point ISK just isn't a factor.
Calm down. Posting on the forums changes nothing.
