I focus on Armor, and generally being a hulking rhinoceros.
Amarr Sentinel has
1. More armor
2. More PG
3. Better recharge delays
4. Better recharge rates
4. 75% more stamina
Ah ha! But I have 1hp/s natural armor regen rate! That is going to make a huge difference in the heat of battle! ( )

Why make one suit deliberately and obviously worse than another.
There are only 3 things Gallente has over Amarr, if you even consider the following things as advantages.
1. Gallente has 1 hp/s natural regen
2. Both have 5 slots, but Gallente is 1/4 and Amarr is 2/3
3. They both have the same resistances for their skill book, but reversed by 1%. Essentially the same resistances.
Why would you ever pick Gallente over Amarr?
1hps natural regen is nothing, I ran minmatar assault through 1.7, and over a very very very long period of time the 1 hp/s matters, but on a fat suit that will be running over 1000 armor!? Its worthless.
You could say that having more low slots is better, because the better modules are in the lows. But the Amarr has more PG, the resource that armor plates and most low modules focus on. And, Amarr has 75 more base hp. Thats like a free armor plate. Because of this Amarr might as well have 4 lows and 2 highs.
I see no advantages over running Gallente Sentinel over Amarr Sentinel other than looking like a godly Rhino. If you can find any, please enlighten me.

Gallente Sentinel can reach over 1200 armor. Just armor. It's shields, if I remember correctly, go over 400 at the level I'm thinking of, so that is 1600 eHP right there. It also has a resistance to Caldari weapon the most, whom have an armor killing weapon of range.
A Gallente Sentinel with a logibro (especially two) will be a massive threat.

um, resists all affect main tank = armour tanking gal is more effective than armour tanking Amarr.
gal has higher potential tank.
Amarr is better against heavies.
Basically, actually have a look at the suit beyond slots.
Fitting capacity is not a valid argument either. All these new heavies are drowning in fitting.
They have basically as much as a GalLogi, and like half the slots to fill.

I have to do this in pieces, work stuff.
Let's start.
The Gallente Resistances are to armor only, while Amarr bonuses are for both shield and armor, giving the Gallente's main tank more of an ability to tank. Likewise, the Gallente have more actual Shield than the Amarr, not much, but some.
Having your main tank resist two of the main counters to it is big.

So you're saying that the small damage reduction percentage differences between the two, and very marginally better base shield, is the Gallentes advantage?
I do not see that as being better than all the things I listed that the Amarr has over Gallente

Better recharge rates

Ah, well the 8 and the 6 are very hard to tell apart.
Its still not that big of a difference though.
I just don't see dual armor resistances as better than shield and armor resistances.
Also, they will both be able to pull off about the same amount of armor, since Amarr has 75 more base Armor, the difference between an amarr with 3 cmplx plates and a gallente with 4 cmplx plates will be marginal. |

Total of 15% damage decrease towards Hybrid - Rail (RR, BP, SR, MSMG)
Total of 10% damage decrease towards Projectile (HMG, CR, SMG)
Gallente Sentinel with 3 Cx plates and a enhanced/proto rep will have more tank than the Amarr with (little) better repair rate as Amarr can have 2 Cx plates and a enhanced/proto rep given that the total HP difference is not huge but it's still there

1 HP per second was literally the dumbest thing I've heard.
That would still be useful on a scout, where the 3 HP / sec would actually make the tiniest difference on a Sentinel.

2 things.
1- Gal sentinel is a turtle. Rhino was the old old old concept art. It went from rhino to owl to turtle.

Powergrid is a pointleess +1 for 1.8 heavies.
A Gallente heavy, filling ALL OF IT'S SLOTS WITH PROTOTYPE, and I mean everything, weapons, grenades, modules, everything prototype, still has a fuckton of CPU/PG leftover.
Shield regeneration bonus for Gallente Assault is about as useful as Sharpshooter for Nova Knives.

PLUS against other heavies you are completely screwed! Cal heavy will have like half the eHP as Gal and Ammar especially considering they BOTH have armour resistance to projectile weapons (HMG) and Cal has no resistance to projectiles! |

My argement stands.
The EHP between the Gallente and Amarr are marginal at best
and Amarr still get the benefit of
75% more stamina
2 highs and 3 lows (more fitting versatility vs Gallentes 1/4 while maintaining comparable ehp vales)
