*Upgrading the New Player Experience so you have greater context, immersion, and are better prepared to survive in DUST.
Previously was a manual, then wall of text NPE, then the mission based one with rewards, and acadamey.
Improving controls for aiming
*Separate sensitivity for ADS, removed turn speeds on suit classes, improved aim assist for controllers, tuning aim assist still.
Balancing Instant Battles so players are matched better
*There has been small measurable improvements over the months and systems where actively integrated into the system.
Making sure all battles hit a consistent 30 FPS minimum for our current max battle sizes
*Ongoing process, the steamlining of sounds or equipment, optimization of shaders, and now more fine tuning optimization of the gal lab maps in 1.8
Improving vehicle movement
*LAVs used to barrel roll, Dropships died in 10 mph landings but not 120 mph ones. HAVs where a bit too clunky as well.
Balancing vehicles so each has a role and is balanced both versus other vehicles and infantry
*Done in 1.7; still going through fallout of that one; particularly 1.7's side but the removal of the murader tanks was godsend
Improving infantry movement
*Controls are far less clunky than they used to be, there are fewer sandtraps and snag movements.
Making getting into battles provide more context about what's going on, why you're fighting, etc.
*FW end of match screen is part of this process
Improving Planetary Conquest and making it more meaningful and interesting to be involved with
*Ongong process the more recent changes has started a war where capital ships are now getting killed; as one player puts it... That escalated quickly; we skipped battleships entirely.
Improving Factional Warfare, making it more interesting, and rewarding players who are loyal to a faction somehow
*FW Store
Fixing bugs and exploits
*Ongoing and various; melee glitch gone, dupe glitch destroyed and few others.
Improving overall gear balancing so there is no "best" choice and there are tactical choices to make
*1.8 has this with suits but this is also an ongoing process
Improving situational awareness tools through the UI
*Intel Window was added to show effectiveness of weapons; Shaders added over characters to help indicate status, added damage mod activated notifier on vehicles. Added scanner UI.
Improving the fitting experience through UI and better integration with the market
*Literally the only thing they haven't touched or made better.
CCP gets
A for effort
-D for effect
All points on roadmap (that just ended) needs to be thrown back onto the next map for refinement.
This old map was released back around Uprising 1.1
