I was thinking of an idea for a game mode that would incorporate our already well known domination and skirmish maps with a twist.
Basic idea is that both teams can either assault the enemy MCC through boarding and/or defend their MCC as well as having the option to take control of the Null cannon(s). This could give new life to maps that are otherwise straightforward and mundane as far as tactics go.
Lets say the hostile team is well dug in at the Null cannon, happily sitting around a campfire and you can't remove them. This gives the option of using a more varied tactical approach. Keep them busy while a squad manages to board their MCC. Now the campers have to allocate forces to defend etc. This opens up far more dynamic ways of winning a match.
While on-board the MCC the hostile team would have to fight their way to Hack/Capture/Sabotage different objectives. This I am sure would take a ton of work and tweaking to get it working right but I think it would be a hell of a lot of fun for everybody.
I also think the level design team might love the opportunity to flesh out the interior of the ships according to lore and design any defensive systems and whatnot. (I would love to see Duct tape on the walls of a Minmatar MCC or the glorious hallways of the Amarr MCC.
Please discuss, enhance, or rip the idea to shreds if need be. Just a thought running around in my head and thought the community would like to discuss it.

The lift Idea is cool however I am thinking that the nature of the MCC would be to specifically keep hostiles out. The lift seems too easy. I imagine the way to board an MCC could be to use drop ships or a specialized module for a drop ship. That might give The DS a new and useful role to play for all the pilots out there. Or you can just straight fly the darn things right up to the MCC and say hello. That way it remains a viable option but doesn't make it too easy to board one.

how about removing the MCC's and have 2 command centers and use the ideas you have come up with.
I could give you 10 reason why the Dust team cant get the Amarr tank style right but they are all out of care.

I could definitely be down with that. It would still give the Design team tons of things to do and it could bring out the true style and beauty of the architecture for each race. IMO Dust 514 needs that right about now to show new players that there is actually a rich community made story to the EVE universe.
Might work best if the defenders had the command center (seeing they are setup ) and the attackers have the MCC (Becuase they dropped in to say hi )
