As outlined here, there are four variants (Assault, Breach, Burst, and Tactical) and only the AR has all four right now. Let's get some more in there.
just some quick brain storms (numbers not written in stone and used from the best of my memory in regards to the original rifle's stats).
Burst Scrambler Rifle Deals 45 damage a shot. .15s between each shot in the 3-round burst. 3-round burst charge shot possible, but each charge shot deals 40% less damage than current charge shot and 1 burst results in an overheat. 1 charge burst + 1 normal burst possible on lvl 5 amarr assault. 150 overheat damage 5 second seize time. Allows for high single-target damage w/ charge, but takes shooter temporarily out of the fight.
Breach Scrambler Rifle Deals 72 damage per shot (current, pre-1.8 nerf damage value) Hardcap on semi-auto RoF, similar to the Tac AR. Charge shot does same damage as now. Allows for the current pre-nerf ScR damage, but at a lower RoF.
Tactical Combat Rifle Deals 42 damage a shot. Semi-auto fire like current ScR 25 round clip. +10m range over current CR
Breach Combat Rifle Deals 35 damage per shot. Burst fire, but time between shots is slightly slower, like the Burst AR's rate. Correct timing allows for continual firing, ala the current CR. Operates just like any breach weapon, allowing for greater damage per trigger pull at the cost of RoF. In this case, 105.
Tactical Rail Rifle Deals 70 damage per shot. .15 charge time before each shot Very accurate at long ranges, little-to-no kick (as semi-auto RoF is gimped by charge time) 20 round clip. Allows for highly-accurate yet slow long range semi-auto fire.
Let's not forget the other non-Fine Rifle weapons. Having Laser Rifle variants would be cool, but I can't really think of a way to implement one of the 4 variants at the moment.

and unless you want to include overheat seize duration and feedback damage on your rail and blaster weapons dont put them on the laser weapons.
Except I only use Amarrian weapons.
Everything else was just a general idea of how the variants would work, based on the base rifle.
