Nope. Actually, I never see it anymore.  Unless someone is desperate enough to bring out that focused active scanner, then I just chuckle, knowing they have a crazy cooldown time.
Don't worry though, just a few more days and I'm willing to bet only a few people will actually be running scanners.

No. I'm a scout. Only thing that gets me is the Duvolle Focused. In that case, I run to the opposite side of the map and if the scanner is chasing me, I lol. I, also, run back to the redline if he just doesn't give up and AFK for a bit. |

so i don't have a problem with it.
Also as a scout, you may want to try these dampeners on, they really bring out your eyes.

Scanners still take less SP to spec into than passive scans. A good passive scanning suit needs at least one proto suit, then another 2 million of investment (At the least, give or take) to make them effective. Perhaps a bit less can be put in if you go with a Gal scout, but otherwise, it's a huge SP dump, while scanners only take the usual price of equipment.

I have some suits that don't get scanned, gal scout and cal logi( some fits) but for real i cant not get scanned unless i put 2 damps on lows :/ |

I think i actually broke that particular warning sign. I run a scout with proto dampeners and proto skill in scout suits. It went from saying scan prevented to just saying nothing. So Im assuming that ive offended the scanners some how and need to make ammends. I will offer them a proto heavy suit to scan to their hearts content. Will this suffice?

I've noticed that too. Sometimes I hear a scan nearby but I don't get a message. That could be because they didn't do a 360* scan though.
And if you're a proto scout with proto dampening, you don't need to run complex dampeners on your suit. You only need a single basic dampener to dodge 28dB scans. So unless you're afraid that someone is running a proto Minnie scout with 3x complex precision enhancers, you're probably overdampening. There's definitely no point in running multiple complex damps on a proto scout, at least until 1.8 comes along. |

I have hated scanners for a long time. It made me start scouting.
I'm happy 1.8 will change how scanners work. There are a ton of players that can't play without scans and they are going to be raped hard in 1.8.
It will be glorious.

Scanners = Wallhacks. Seriously.
In any other FPS, being able to see your targets through walls would be considered hacking. It completely and utterly ruins the point of actually using your eyes and ears to detect your enemy because you constantly have a big red "HE'S RIGHT HERE" marker on your enemy. For example:
Battlefield 4 with Wallhacks
Notice how ridiculously easy it makes it for him to constantly know where everyone is all the time. That's effectively how scanners function right now. Scanning should provide intel only to your radar, not your actual in-game HUD. Knowing exactly where the red dots are and when they're coming around the corner really ruins a lot of core gameplay.
