First of all, you are comparing apples to oranges Termin8ter. You should keep in mind that features that work with a specific game do not necessarily work with another. Especially when you are mixing a tactical espionage action game that revolves around its storyline and characters with a tactical shooter that relies on the human players' stories and is backed by the immense lore of EVE Online.
Secondly, the doors in your room are closed because there is no necessity for exploration of the station your mercenary 'lives' at. That means CCP has no obligation whatsoever to build a whole station with a central hub for weapons testing, despite the idea sounding 'cool' at first it would be a massive technical challenge, especially when more important parts of the game need to be nailed out.
Finally, throwing around ideas in a constant manner doesn't ensure their success, especially in Dust 514's situation where the main ideas that are needed at the moment are potential improvements to mechanics and existing features. I don't think any developer has the heart to tell you that your wild idea will likely never be applied.
Also for everyone else in this thread; back your opinions with logic, and any speculation must have a link to a reliable source. Not everyone has seen the same content, or has the same eyes as yours. I am not trying to 'police' the posts, but I am merely mildly annoyed. |

Termin8ter wrote:if you could read you would realize that im not comparing them, i am suggesting that the idea be looked; however, i am well aware of the fact that ccp is still working on other ideas. hence why i said in the distant future. and besides whats the fun in only being stuck in a room and fighting need more than that to provide a long lasting game. lastly, it would be useful to be able to test out different fits and see how they work without dieing.
Stop being so straight forward this game is growing and the community helps steer where it will go
Trial and error is the heart of a game like Dust 514, and that's why you have different numbers such as KDR to provide you whether or not the current fit you have chosen does indeed fit your play-style.
Your suggestion basically won't help the game at all; it would only introduce some extra miscellaneous thing that is not really necessary when the guts of the game are located into joining a battle and using the ideal dropsuit that fits with the situation and that also you are capable of using.
The community does indeed aid into the development of a game, especially in Dust 514's case and that is a known fact. |
