Did you buy the Collector's Edition? If so it doesn't mention anything about assault variants. It does mention an "Amarr "Templar" Scrambler Rifle" That was your mistake. From the quality of your post, it doesn't look like you read very well.

Did you buy the code itself from a player?
If so, did you use the Code Bazaar sub forum? Good news, you might get you ISK refunded. If the seller's post and yours made it clear he intended that you would get a BPO Assault ScR and you for some reason believed him, well that's a scam by misrepresentation and that's not allowed in the Code Bazaar.
