Dear CCP, NO ONE LIKES VR HEADSETS
You may disagree with me. "Oh no, Remy VR headset are the coolest, it's the future of gaming" you might plea. So what's going on with 3-D televisions and motion controllers and being the big dumb controllers yourself? Nothing, that's what. People tuned out because it sucks. Anything you wear on your face that isn't someone else's face is lame.
Get out of it while you can CCP. It'll make money until those easily parted from their cash have finished buying them. Then those ten idiots will get bored and go buy new iPhones...or google goggles...or whatever new dumb gimmicky crap is being peddled to their short attention span having asses.
Gimics are Gimics, gaming saw the parade of Gimics back in the late 90s that crashed and burned as well like Virtual Boy.
This is like everything Nintendo is doing now, gimics.
How is the Wii U doing these days?
As to the topic at hand, from my understanding, this game is a tax write off, literally, at this point so don't expect much before it's eventual shut down. |

This is the best post ive ever seen on DUST forums +1000 i think that your problem is that it is not made for you. we see a revival of spaceshoters (like X-wing) and dogfighter games like (world of warplanes). You can finaly stand infront of a 10 meter monster in a MMO and turn your head in a need for speed game to see who is next to you. yes, a shooter and MMO maybe not that great, because you get dizzy if you move with the gamepad and move your head, but you can also use the "PS3/4 Move" or the Wii to move with your had and use your other arm for a sword. zelda did show how to use a bow and there is stuff that you can use to make your PS3 move into a gun (left thum moves and you aim with your whole body) talking that VR is **** just shows that you dont understand what you can do with it. people dont fall from a chair if they play a game for no reason...VR today is way better then what it was 10-20 years ago
I haven't found reviews that weren't shill insiders IE gamespot who favorably reviewed motion control games. I know for myself I hate with a passion any game I get like red steel 2 where "Oh man it's like I'm swinging a sword" no I'm swinging a ******* remote it's nothing like a sword. Wearing a TV around my face isn't going to make me go "Whoa I'm in a plane." I've been in planes, doesn't feel like a TV is strapped to my face.
Edit: Don't make the world cringe anymore then they do at gamers who pretend like their game is remotely realistic. I don't want hillary clinton trying to ban games again because she thinks virtual killing = really killing. There is plenty of actual studies showing that even young children can distinguish fantasy from reality. Don't encourage a step in the wrong direction. |

History has proven that practicality beats out ANY other feature. Any technology that requires eyewear has always failed, because it's not consistently practical. They've already tried twice to VR and 3D with gaming, and it's never worked. I think those VR headsets are super cool, but do I have the self-esteem to wear a giant set of goggles on my head all day playing video games like an imbecile? Sadly not. Unless I can lay my fat ass out on my couch with my feet propped up, drink at my elbow, and controller in my lap, I ain't buying it. After 8 to 10 hours at my real-life job, I am not gonna stand in the middle of my living room, whipping my head around and generally flailing about like a moron just to play some game. Any game. The company that can develop a hands-free, relatively immobile method of play so that gamers can use one of their hands occasionally for something else that is in no way gaming-related, they will be rich beyond their wildest dreams, and perpetual light will shine upon them.
Yeah they call those gaming consoles, They use a device crafted to be held in your hand called a controller. All you have to do is send messages to your fingers to push on buttons or twerk about some analog sticks. As far as no hands, you could learn to use your feet, beyond that, blink controls would get fairly complicated and not worth the rapid blinking and a direct connection to your cerebral cortex would require surgery and seems fairly dangerous with how often bleeding in the brain quickly becomes fatal. Honestly, without becoming unresponsive, complicated, or dangerous you won't get much better then an input system that requires you to use your fingers, there's a reason the Jetsons still pushed buttons.
