So if someone cloaked runs, that'll create visible distortion but if one is hit by a stray shot or even bumped into by another merc will that cause distortion?
Also I'm unclear whether cloaked mercs are hidden even from proto scanners.
We'll need to know these things whether we're using them or trying to defend against them.
Finally the full set of racially aligned suits;
but still not one with a tie

Cloaked mercs are possibly hidden from proto scanners .
The shimmer increases as you move faster.
You are never entirely invisible.
If I remember correctly, your cloak breaks if shot.
Go read the devblog, it answers all yor questions.

Yes, proto scanners precision can beat cloaked profiles if you aren't dampened enough.

The stats on each of the cloaks shows by how much they will reduce your scan profile. So you will be able to work your mathematical noggin & find out which scanners you can dodge.
No.

I believe, most/all scouts will be hidden even from Gal logi proto focused scanners while cloaked, if I am reading the cloaking active affect properly (with it stacking on top of dampeners and passive damp skilling).
If uncloaked and just running dampeners; I believe only the Gal scout will be undetectable.

They should of taken lessens from EVE. After turning off the cloak there should be a small time penalty in which you cannot do anything but move around, and If someone gets too close then cloak breaks.

No, last thing we need is a useless cloak like tf2 The cloak is designed for safely traversing land, that is a use (and thus not useless). Of course in any competitive game people will take anything and use it to help kill, so you try to discourage that. I'm not sure if the big decloak flare and sound effect will be enough though
Wait and see I suppose, it's almost here.

It will make a noise and you can't shoot from cloak without first disabling the cloak. You can melee from cloak at least but that will decloak you anyways.

I'm sorry, cloak useless in tf2? You were doing it wrong.

But you can still start firing your gun immediately after decloaking, which is pretty powerful.
Again, with the update coming in just a few days might as well wait and see now.

Nope Decloak wait an unbalanced 4 seconds Try to shoot with crappy pistol (from behind) Die The cloak is useless as its delay is too long

A good question is seeing if flux grenades make it flicker or shimmer, there will be a lot of testing done.
I could list the ways how we Amarr are better than you, but your lesser mind wouldn't comprehend it.

People have no idea how crazy cloaks are going to be with those durations. Having come from Planetside 2 and knowing the crazy amazing things I could do with a 10s cloak, 60+ second duration cloaks are going to be ridiculous.
They should halve the listed durations or I guarantee you, no one will play anything but scout in a month's time. |
