Scouts SHOULD be able to combat a heavy via flanking. Changing the turn speed was one of the changes I thought was a mistake. Then speed tanking is a viable counter to straight armor tanking.
I'd like to be your CPM1 candidate

Because they should have a couple drawbacks to go with their multiple positives, that is how balance works
Most tankers are like sand people. They frighten easily, but will quickly return...and in greater numbers.

Only if you can assure us that the mouse/kb players will also suffer from the same turn speed limits.
Yes then I am cool with it.
(oh and even scouts should have a slight turn speed limit)

I actually brought this up less than two weeks ago during a discussion about Heavy changes in Uprising 1.8 so the Akeras in-block is limp and in desperate need of Viagra.
Currently there is a hypothetical where Sentinel Frames getting an Hit-Point Boost + Big Four Rifles being brought closer in inline with other Small Arms + Time To Kill changes = imbalance in favor of Heavy Frames.
Since the patch notes I've been giving some thought on how the upcoming changes will effect the Dev titled "Point Defense" Frame.- What is going to be the value of shield-skirmishing?
- Will a large Hit-Point buffer and Light Weapons overly favor the Heavy Frame when there are uplinks involved?
- What does the Frame's tank mean with the new cloaks?
- With head-shots becoming more important for everyone how long will the extra buffer last?
With so much changing in the end it feels like a coin-flip. My position is if the buffer becomes a problem to first determine how it is being detrimental. Then what options from rebalance to nerf is needed. If that means turn restriction or weapon locking then so be it.
What we don't need however is Forum Metagame nerfing. Look what it did for Uprising 1.7

The Big-Four Rifles are currently better, do you have an alternative fix?
Also by your logic anyone could say HMGs being Heavy Weapons they should have vastly more range and damage over Light Weapons. Not a position us "balance" supporter believe in.

I would argue that they are currently balanced as evidenced by our recent Mauler event, however, that is opinion and open for debate. We will of course have to see how things play out come Tuesday. I think Sentinels will be OP and over populate pub matches, hopefully my prediction will be wrong on both counts. I would rather be wrong and have a fun and balanced infantry than be right and be frustrated and annoyed by Dust.

As Zahle Undt said, that's called balance.

Ok ....here's my stance....yes....and no.....while I do believe scouts should be able to counter heavies they shouldn't have a cheap "I win" mechanic either.....
I am fine with limiting turn speed as long as only heavily speed tanked suits are the ones who could circle strafe a heavy....
And I mean HEAVILY speed tanked.....like a gal scout with 3 complex kin kats
Real heavies use lasers

Plates do affect turn speed by their movement % penalty. However, this doesn't affect mouse users since they have no turn cap. They literally break the turn rate cap for them. |

What is wrong with this picture? Scouts also need more armor to react to heavies also. Does that make sense?
