Russia has every right to be in Crimea. Russian majority, strong cultural ties, and the Crimeans even overwhelmingly voted to be annexed by Russia. Western propoganda is nothing but Western propoganda. Take a look at some videos of what really happened during the riots in Kiev, Ukraine. Riot police forming defensive lines while the protestors throw Molotov cocktails at them, beat them with clubs and metal poles, even threatening to run a bulldozer through one police line. They were even destroying the roads to use their bricks as projectiles to throw at the riot police. Are these protestors civilized people we want in a newly installed government? And don't forget that this was a coup d'+Žtat which is technically illegal under the UN charter and the new government is a "government of the victors," not a democratically chosen government. Russian people in Ukraine have every right to ask Russia for help. And the West has absolutely no right to tell Russia otherwise.
Well, I have read some amazing article about this. Basically, America is always trying to beat Russia one way or another. And it has a very interesting way of doing it. CIA funded Alkaida, and many other coups. You know why? Because... China. Let me explain. Syberia has some awesome resources that China needs. They are very resource dependent and they suck them up like a sponge. So America is slowly making their way towards Russia, by placing their military bases closer and closer, and trying to deny Russia anything that they can without causing a **** storm.
Now ,every time China was close to acquiring something useful, some stuff would happen that would not allow them to get the resources. They are starting to get desperate and that is exactly what US wants - for China to start looking into Syberia, since it's so incredibly close and has ALL the stuff they need.
USA was trying to get rid of Russia's power for tens of years now. Does it seem brutal? Yes. But I approve. My countryr (Poland) is close to Russia. They were always affecting my country one way or another. A lot of people don't know how crazy the russians are, how horrible. My girlfriend's grand grand mother told her an interesting story from the WWII. We were pretty much occupied by both Germany and Russia, and what that old lady said was that when Germans were coming to her farm, they would always be clean, washed, smelled good and were polite. Now, when Russians used to come to the farm, they'd be absolutely filthy, smelled like ****, did not even ask for permission to take anything from the farm and they were abusive. This is a good example of how the whole Russia treats other people. This country is a mess, in a huge debt and is one big mafia.
Russia should never be in power of anything. They will destroy it, suck it out of all the money and profits so a couple of politicians can stuff their wallets. They were ruthless during Stalin's rule, they were ruthless before that, and they are known for stuffing their citizens throats with propaganda.
Some of you have no idea how **** that country is. I wish I didn't have to live near it. We grow up reading books about Russification (occupation where we can't speak another language other than Russian, where the intelligent Polish people were often killed to try and make the country dumber), gulags, Katyn disaster and so on. They have a history of being liars, backstabbers, filthy alcoholics that HAVE TO BE STOPPED one way or another.
So, even though America is doing something very mean and I do not fully approve, I think it is necessary to finally start getting rid of the evil. |

Once great guy named Bill Hicks said: "war is when two armies are fighting". Since II WW we had only invasions or for example: Persian Gulf Destruction. Please don't put politics here (except dust politics ofc), I'm Polish and it's hard for me that my neighbors got hudge problem. The worst thing is that both sides of interest don't give a f... about Ukrainians...
I wouldn't worry. As long as people don't call each other idiots for having different views I think this conversation can be quite healthy. I, for one, am very interested in this. Everybody I meet says "I dont want to talk about it" and I am a bit happy that I can finally see what people have to say about it.

Go Russia! Granted I am sure you are far from perfect but at least you are not hypocrites like our leaders are in the west.
The west complains about Russia going in to the Crimea to help their own people (Or people who would consider themselves mostly Russian or Russian bias) yet the west invades many other countries over totally false pretexts. Cough # Iraq # cough.
By the way - Over 97% of voters in the Crimea voted to join Russia and now the west does not like that and is calling it illegitimate. If people voting for their own future is not democratic then what is?
I love many parts about my country and what the west stands for but you cannot deny the fact that our leaders are totally corrupt and totally hypocritical.
97%, right? Out of... what was it? 137% total? Does not look like a bit of a lie at all, does it? I would not like to be ruled by a poor, dirty country full of alcoholics and depressed people that live in poverty and propaganda. Russia is such a filthy country, that I can't, with any logic, support them in any way at all. |

I wasn't focusing on Ukraine in my post, I was focusing on Russia and America. I am not very interested in the reasons why Russia wants Ukraine. People say they have the right because "hostory" and others say they don't have a right. There are also people saying that they DO have the right, but they broke some laws. Just like they always do.
You are asking me to look at this from different perspectives. I do. And my hate isn't something that just appeared overnight. I was "ok" with Russia until I saw how Putin does things. He's not a good person, he's a bandit, and a bully.
When a Polish plane crashed near Katyn, they didn't even let us see the black boxes for 1,5 years!!! A plane with our president and a few generals. Do you understand how important this was to us? It's been years since it happened and we still don't know what happened exactly! I hate this big country that thinks we're nothing, a little speck of dust that can be bullied, because we can't hit them back. That's also what Putin said about UK ("small insignificant country"). Do you know what happened when a Russian plane crashed on our border? Russia just marched in, took all the stuff from the crash and left. They didn't ask us for permission. They do not care.
So we still do not know whether our president was murdered by your government or not. And since they kept all the details a secret I am going to go with - they did it. They got their revenge for Georgia, since our president just rushed into that country to try and stop the invasion.
I can't trust that guy. And when I read one of his long speeches where he contradicted himself every few minutes, I just couldn't stop wondering - "Are people believing this crap?" I am not talking about any speeches about Ukraine. He gave it a few months before that. "We do not want to be a military power" "We will challenge any military power to be the best" And so on... There were many more things he said then, and I can't remember them of the top of my head, but my Latvian friend was pretty excited... which was a bit sad.
It's not propaganda that your country is in shambles. The life expectancy in Russia is about 77 years these days. 20% of men die before 55, mostly because of alcohol.
An ex KGB member, who nobody heard of became president. And at the same time Russian Orthodox church rises in power once again. And it was very strong during Communism, because it was the main source of propaganda. And here we have it becoming powerful again. That church was actually one of the propaganda tools used by KGB. See any connections?
The Russian mindset is not healthy for other nations. Isn't there a Russian rule saying "we must kill somebody once in a while to send a message"? There is such a saying, and don't tell me there isn't.
I will always see Russia one of those bullies in the yard. The one that doesn't clean his teeth and it smells when he comes close to you to throw insults at you. The one wearing a tracksuit, thinking that he's the most important and best person in the world.
I do apologize. I hate it when people speak badly of my country, but it happens very often. It is true that it's wrong to divide people into nationalities. I don't have every single russian. I hate the ideology of Russia and the way they deal with politics, military, market, finances and propaganda.
I know how much propaganda is fed to US people. I am not defending the other side. But I do not think that Russia should try and reclaim any old countries. That will never help that reclaimed country.
