I have my own ideas and thoughts surrounding HAV/AV balance and wish to dialogue with other such players who feel balance needs to be achieve by finding a middle ground, and are not inclined to make such short sighted demands as buffs of nerfs or resort to name calling.

Regardless of whether or not HAV are OP, UP, or balanced I will still use them. I mean I started tanking in the Dog Days of 1.3 in Soma's against Proto Ion Maddy, invisible forgers and swarmers exploiting my inability to see past 50m, and general lack of durability for their ISK cost.

Adamance, not gonna lie, you've become one of the few tankers whose word i can a actually side with. not just with tanks, but you also seem to be quite knowledgeable in certain infantry aspects as well.

That's my goal. I run infantry whenever I am told by my squad leader, I run tanks for fun yeah, but I can't remain ignorant of other game aspects and exploit in good conscience certain mechanics of my role. Dust 514 is known for its domino effects when it comes to buff and nerfs. I agree with the damage .....it really didnt need a nerf....but the lock on range did in some respects. I believe prior to 1.7 it has a 200m Lock on. Which was vastly too far. What that meant is that AV had a secondary means of long range AV, this one with high DPS that tracked to a tankers position.... in that sense there was no crossing on engagement zones between AV and HAV. Which essentially meant it was impossible to engage AVers in certain positions who could with impunity blaze away. Lock ranges now I feel are fair....but the underwhelming damage models does not allow a swarmer to do acceptable levels of damage at this closer range. "Get thine Swag out of my face!
