Just because the suits changed doesn't mean the equipment becomes useless. |

I personally don't think you should get a refund on anything.

@OP, it's your own fault that you skill into the wrong crap! You do realise that the game is still in beta, people like you are treating it as a full game, it isn't... Their will be new changes coming to Dust with each patch & 1.8 change the whole Infantry & their fore needs a full infantry respec, because at the moment i can't try out both new weapons & suits with a dropsuit respec...
I ask this with respect and not hostility:
Why do you feel you deserve to try new weapons and suits at proto level on day 1? If you DO want that option, why do you not save your SP when changes are announced or new content is being added? It's not like the 1.8 patch notes were the first time anyone heard of the changes that were coming.
I have 30+ mil sp, I have maybe 100K banked up. I knew these changes were coming months ago but that didn't change the way I play the game. I got 3 mil SP from the past weekend event, and almost all of it is gone. I will be unable to skill instantly into any of the new weapons, and will only be able to switch suits. Suits that will most likely be the exact same ones I already have, sans the Amarr heavy, that will become the Gallente heavy.

I'll consider the notion of a weapon respec if it involves those that had rank 5 flaylock pistol being branded with "FP SCRUB" on their clones forehead for all to see. Sorry but NO. Some people are not FOTM follower or users. Some people want to have a dedicated playstile. Most of the FOTM where weapon, that take nearly one week to skill from STD to PROTO, and with 1,8 prof on some weapon is not so important anymore. When you add bonus to something you MUST give Respec. A Min LOGI could have proto cod breakers. But since now he is becoming a Heavi-repper maybe he just want to switch his SP on a repper. FOTM is the symptom, not the cause Hell, even dark soul 2 give respecc!!!!!
Is it really that hard to just train into something new? As you mentioned, it takes roughly a week to train from STD to PRO. Your options are to bank SP before the release or get the weapon/suit/whatever a week later. Do you really need it RIGHT NOW because something new was added or changed?
Also, your example of a dedicated mini logi isnt a FOTM problem, it's a player who is a MIN/Max'er. There's nothing wrong with being hyper focused on a playstyle, you just have to accept that things change, new technology is released, and you may have to train something new. |

How am i suppose to test things out & give feedback for CCP, with just a Dropsuit Respec? & i'm not one of those that go for FOTM...
Train through the STD, ADV, PRO at a normal rate and test them as opposed to skipping STD and ADV and going straight to PRO? That's normally how testing is done.

I had made a long and hard decision on what to spec into, and had specced my assault rifle into proficiency 4. now, the assault rifle doesn't even get a damage bonus to armor; only to the already-low hp shields, rendering it worthless. Its like saying that it's my fault that I spent all my money on a Ferrari when it had been turned into a tricycle.
While I LOLed at your Ferrari/Tricycle analogy, the AR is far from worthless now and after 1.8 I'll have to reevaluate but I doubt that it will be a wet noodle |
