Had several people come to The UNI from there, who I've told they have a role and must first resign it before I could accept them. Most knew nothing about it. A couple resigned but found they had the role given back before they could leave.

To be fair, they're not the only corp to do it. Had a lot come to UNI and it's been a fight for them to leave their previous corp. Has it ever even occurred to them that they could just manually remove their roles before applying? ._. Still a 24 hour cooldown that way.
Exactly. And I've tested it myself. Just giving someone the TCO role is enough to lock them. Doesn't have to be director.

To be honest the corp roles and relevant UI is a bloody mess.
One of the things I'd be pushing heavily if I'm successful in getting on the CPM is more work on corp UI. Corps need better tools to work better.
