I don't think there is any resistance for Sentinels. At least this is what I assumed from seeing people say NKs will be 'the bane of Sentinels'. Someone else is bound to clarify this but in my mind they are akin to non elemental damage in fantasy MMOs; that spell that wrecks all foes because it's not debuffed by their various resistances.

Since shotties are going to be doing 15% more shield damage per shot (I'm predicting a LOAD of shield heavy QQ over getting 2 shotted by shotguns ), I think they will be the bane of Cal/Min heavies still since you don't have to get quite as close with them as you do with knives. But if the knives are 90/110 then that Amarr & Gallente heavy are going to need knives after them.
I'm basically doing prep work with this post since I'm guessing that at least 75% of the FOTM chasers will race for the Heavies since running a scout actually requires you to use your brain. I wanna help lead the charge on denying them every kill we possibly can.

It does the same damage to shields and armor. Anyone who tells you different is going by hearsay and hasn't tested it in game. As far as I know, it will not be affected by sentinel resistances.

Very helpful, thank you. Query: Now that we know damage mods are going to be changed, and therefore triple stacking them is pointless (even double stacking is kind of a bad idea...) What is the damage dealt with 2x Complex damage mods in 1.8?
Also, since the damage is marked as 90 but you deal 102 per blade connect (204 total), wouldn't that mean there is a 13.3-»% damage bonus to both shields and armor? Or, to put it another way, perhaps CCP needs to learn how to update damage numbers on the items in-game lol

Yeah, CCP is just bad at listing the damage in game for some reason. You could say that they had a 1.13333 damage bonus when uncharged but it'd get complicated when calculating the charge swipe, since it'd be 90 * 1.13333 * 2.2 to get the charge swipe bonus damage, times two, for the full damage of two hits. I found it easier to simplify to 2.2666x and 4.9777x, where x is the base damage per knife.
I updated my original post, as in 1.8 there's no way to get enough damage to OHK heavies so might as well not try. The good part is that passively, it's fairly easy to reach 262 HP damage per knife, which is the amount required to OHK any medium or light and 2HK (one charge and one regular swipe) any heavy. So you can use your high slots for shields or whatever. |
