Blueprints are a very touchy subject since people paid for them but they will make the people wearing them THE MOST WEATHY person in Dust. But something needs to be done I'm not sure if CCP is trying to make solutions to this but someone does because this has been happening for so long. And its bad for our economy. But I'm not coming up with any ideas because I'm not good at making solutions.

wearing nothing but militia dropsuits and modules also just happens to make you the most welthy person in dust....

i fill my blueprint suits with complex modules however and so the amount of isk i make over someone who has to spend isk ont he dropsuit...is pretty much the same give or take a measley thousand isk....

you will save more money being in a corp that doesnt have a tax, then you ever can by running blueprints

Why bring up problems if you do not have solutions?

People have paid for the bpo and have the right to keep them and use them as they please. It is too bad you missed out on getting some bpo

 BPO's
Hell you can still get the LAV one for like 4.99 still, thats 13K a pop

I do wish I had started playing back when I could've had gotten a scout BPO, I'd trade all my templar gear for that.

If they take away my BPO scout then I'll just run advanced or proto all the time, simple as that.

I have around 875mil ISK so I can do this anyway, but I don't see the need since my BPO scout is pretty effective by itself.

For vehicles, throwaway LAV's a pretty cheap, just like throwaway dropships.

 ECONOMY - no
BPO are only militia and standard/basic level.
There is about 15 ppl in Dust that have adv BPO for LAV.

BPO is trated still like item loss when you die, but only you (personaly) get another from 'refund' stock. THERE IS STIIL PLACE FOR YOUR (soon) FACTORY IN EVE/DUST - ALL ITEM ARE MAKED!

THERE IS NO 'FREE' ITEM IN THIS (or out) WORLD!

No point bring economy here. For now there is NO economy at last. Soon will be another.

To come up with a solution you have to go back to where they began. They are modeled on the EVE blueprint system where a Blueprint Original (BPO) meant you can produce as many runs you have materials for and a Blueprint Copy (BPC) gave you a license to make as many as you had materials and licenses for.

For those that don't know, the non-BPO items you have in your inventory are considered BPC and give you a license to make that item on-demand, on the battlefield, using either the MCC, a supply depot or the CRU.

DUST is missing the material aspect.

They can solve this in one of a few ways. The first option is to introduce a material cost for every copy you create. So, you'd pay for a BPC license and then pay again for some material when you actually use it. Let's call it Nanite Base Material since nanites make all of our stuff. However, this will confuse the rookies. "Why am I paying for my stuff twice?"

The second option is to require that someone pay to fill the MCC, the supply depots and the CRUs with Nanite Base Material. In an NPC match this could be the sponsoring NPC corporation. Effectively, BPOs remain free after the initial expense of buying the BPO. In a PC battle then the player corporations have to pay for both biomass and nanite material.

Neither of these two solutions solve the public match problem and just adds confusion. Until mercenaries have to pay for Warbarges and drop installations and MCCs from orbit there is not going to be an obvious solution. The final solution is to build what you think you'll need and drop it on the battlefield. When its used up then you're done.

What we have today is a lobby shooter test bed for one small part of the bigger DUST 514 concept. There is too much hand waving going on. These are not the blueprints you are looking for.

People always say that BPO's are killing the market but the amount is actually very negligible, for the most part. You have to realize that most BPO gear is Militia level, meaning it is cheap.

Let's say I am running 10 games a day in my BPO suit. I make 180k a game, so 1.8 million a day. What if instead of using a full BPO suit, I ran a Standard Assault (4k) with a Standard Weapon (1.5k) and a Militia mods (say 2.5k). That is 8k per death. How many times am I dying per map? I dunno, say 3.5 average. So instead of making 1.8 million I am making 1.5 million. My BPO's save me a whole 280k (15.5%). If I dropped down to a Militia Frame and a Militia Light Weapon, I could probably push it to lower than 4k a death, which is still 1.66 million. Basically the only blueprints that make a significant difference are the Basic variants, especially the suits.

BPO's are not going to make anyone the wealthiest players. The wealthiest are going to be the people that play the most. Once Player Market comes out and there is true EVE integration, the wealthiest players are going to be the people that figure out the market fastest and corner a specific niche.

 -perspective-

dust's player base is small and dedicated. I'd wager a lot of us have bpos because they were a fairly common item and a large portion of dust's player base is old enough to have bpos. that will change, beta players will eventually fall into the minority the player base will hopefully grow and the proportion of haves to have nots will shrink. eventually bpos will be a neglegable portion of the overall economy. alternatively the player base stays roughly stagnate but overtime players leave including those who have bpos until bpos are a negligible part of the economy.

I don't really use my bpos they sorta suck they only save you a couple thousand isk. I just run ADV suits or modified starter fits. I guess the people who only run starter fits cause they're cheap would use them a lot but I'm not worried about losing a little isk here and there.
