I prefer the old hit and run game, run two hardeners, keep one on while you are in the engagement area, and run the other when the first runs dry, and if the battle get hairy, or your hardeners are gone, use your afterburner to GTFO until one hardener is back online, and then repeat. people also find it similar to use the same tactic, but removing the hardeners with shield extenders, It gives you more ehp, but your recharge is slower. experiment with the two of those and see which you like better. also keep in mind that fitting is only half the battle, you need to stay alert, and be ready to reach with a level head as soon as a problem arises. and try to stay close to cover. The fact is, after the hardener nerf, you're just not going to be able to tank much for long. That's the Incubus's department- in a Python, speed is your big advantage. You can go from the enemy's redline to deep inside yours in just a few seconds. I find that I do best with a double extender + AB fitting- charge in, pull a d-stop/twist-stop (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cv25rsWXdYs), spew out 8 missiles, take a hit or two, then afterburn away to reload and regenerate. Repeat indefinitely. While it doesn't give you the ability to pop all your hardeners and set up shop for 25 seconds while being nearly invincible, it means you're never extremely vulnerable, either- pretty much nothing is going to alpha through 3k shields without you having time to pop your AB and GTFO, whereas a hardener-based Python with its hardeners down can be OHKed by a breach FG. edit: I would ditch the scanner, you need that high slot for tanking and the dropship camera is very generous about line-of-sight TACNET chevrons. You'll probably need a PG upgrade in the low IIRC, but it's fine- if they get you into armor, things have gone very wrong already. Always carry a rep tool on your pilot suit, just in case you get low enough into armor to be on fire. Nerdier than thou

You need to stack as many shields as you can on the python and then use an afterburner to get the hell out of trouble while your natural regen takes care of the rest. Python XT-1 missile Enhanced Heavy Shield Extender Basic Heavy Shield Extender Basic Afterburner Complex PG upgrade 3142 Shield 908 Armor This fit is beast. Just need to NEVER stay in one spot too long. If you get hit get out of dodge and then stay away or address the threat. I spent half my ISK on gambling, alcohol and wild women. The rest I wasted.
