I just got out of a domination matxh, shotguns 3, std snotgun, I did well, it was an open map too, its just a cqc gun, 3 shotted a heavy.

the problem is that CCP is changing the proficiency bonus. last time i recall, i didn't skill shotgun proficiency 5 for some lame bonus damage to shields. i trained it for the RoF bonus it gives. that is 10x more helpful than bonus damage, because even with bonues to shields, targets will still be killed in roughly the same amount of shots. it's more important to be able to get the shots off before they can turn around and insta-kill you, but apparently, CCP doesn't understand that.
All they need is a 1m range before dropoff buff and slightly kess damage reduction at range (its range not 50m lol)

Or the rof buff built in...
