the amount of damage those AV hordes put out there is insane... and they like work together and group up and time their shots and stuff....

i havnt seen even 1/3rd of that directed at a tank before.... be scared man... its gunna suck.

I have and am admittedly a terrible dropshipper.

Time and time again i have witnessed the players of this game bring out hordes of AV personel, sometimes amounting to half a team in the name of killing off vehicles, more then enough to wipe every tank off the map.

the only problem is that up untill now the players were only willing to do that to kill dropships.


now with WP rewards for damage i see people actually catching on to the giant WP fountain it is and maybe, quite possably, bringing maybe half that (still more than enough) to the field finally against tanks.

Swarms are a myth. Mine bounce off and have little effect. I cant remember the last time My swarms took out a decent vehicle, or last time my tank/ship was dropped by ANY swarms.

Even when I run dedicated proto forge sniping, I really need another forge to work with. A lot of Tanks will still get away.



When did you last do this?

Because what I have seen is... if half you team is AV and reds already have the HAV advantage, you just handed them infantry advantage....I guess it depends if your running with some "TeamPlayers" or just a "CluelessBlueberry".


It could be better to dedicate a small group to AV. Enough to scare and keep out but not destroy. Keep the HAVS busy while infantry engage.

Militia rail tanks sniping are by far the best counter to tanks yet . Better than proto forge and can move faster .

Buff proxys/ buff swarm range slightly.

ah you have to REALLY **** them off before the sky is darkened with nothing but swarms and forge guns....


typically i end up against 2 forges working in tandom, and 3-5 swarmers

they all tend to either get high ground, sit on the supply depots, or group up in places that are hard to shoot....


so they actually show tactics... its going to be terrifying for the terribad tankers out there if they bring that out against tanks finally.

you dont know terror untill youve had 3 wykomi swarms and 2 ADV swarms shot at you at teh same time.....

Dude I used to pilot Soma back in 1.4 as a main battle tank......I know terror.

First came the swarms....they taught me many things amongst the firey wreckage of my HAV, the came the Ion Cannon Madrugars many of whom I cost a million ISK but cost me 2 HAV for every one of theirs.....then came the falchions which I trolled into oblivion.

When the war came to a close and I remained.... a broken Tanker...I could not return...My Little Soma that Could lay in ruins, a charred wreck.....and was replaced with an Ion Cannon and Particle Accelerator...... I was a shadow of the former happy go lucky fair weather tanker I was always meant to be....

From what I've seen, it appears to be a matter of line of sight above all. Dropships are just easier for everyone to get interlocking fields of fire on, tanks have more buildings and terrain for cover.
