... the planets aligning is meant to signify a rare event.... not what happens 99% of the time i aim my railgun. there are two causes of shooting blanks module activation partially fireing your railgun but not completly the shot. the emptying glitch is is the same bug that effects the installations when they start shooting in all directions randomly on an infinate loop and is caused by something other then direct user input so you cant prevent that one... but getting out of your tank fixes it. if your having THIS much difficulty killing off a redline rail, your doing it very very wrong. Like I said, if I don't get a single bug, it's easy. But the chance for no bugs at all is very minimal. step by step instructions to get into a fight with a redline rail without encountering any bugs before the bastered dies step 1, get your position step 2, activate your damage mods step 3, get out of your tank step 4, get back in step 5, nuke the ***** there you go, 100% chance of not encountering a bug before they die. redline tanks dont move out of the redline (they dont move much at all unless bothered) so its easy to find a place to do this little ritual without any risk before you line up your shot. I see you are playing completely different game than I am in a completely different world. Sigh. Some people...
R.I.P. Pre-1.7 tanks, you will be missed.

There is no reason for a player to be allowed back there behind the spawn. There isn't a single valid reason. How about no supply depots that ground vehicles have access to anywhere else on the map, on some maps?
What does that have to do with the big ass hills/mountains behind 200m+ behind the redline?

im not joking... do this ritual, getting in and out prevents you from shooting blanks, and and if it keeps shooting after dude eats 2 shots it doesnt matter because hes dead....
also dont get into a slugging match, if he sees you youve already lost and you should probably recall and reposition.
think less like two people duking it out, and more like you ninja ganking him while hes focused aiming like all snipers are.
you do know that holding down the trigger makes it continue shooting so you dont have to keep charging up the shot right? |

Until then, singing the QQ Kitten song here is much easier.
Although, if you were in EVE Online the official answer would be HTFU.
Which I actually would agree with in this instance.
And so it goes.

5 year eve vet here, redline rails would be considered an exploit and fixed the next day by CCP reykjavik. No risk = not CCP filosophy. The redline tank is not about being good, its about being soo bad you fear going out and fighting.

Why is the redline a game changer for rail tanks? Rail tanks anywhere on the field are a problem. They are no skill, little cost powerhouses. They are not a risk anywhere. They pull right up to the opposing redline and camp it with equal effectivness.

Well yes and no. A tank outside can be fought but a tank inside a redline runs no risk or very minimal risk of dying.

XxGhazbaranxX wrote:PictureI know this topic has been talked about a lot but I feel Like I have to put something here because it's just for lack of better words an exploit. We brought out railgun tanks of our own but in the redline they cant be killed. They got hit once and just hid behind cover. Nothing could be done, not even bomb LAV's because of terrain and distance. The fight was equalish but no other type of play could be done. Air and ground where dominated by two guys with milita railgun tanks. They did not risk a thing to do it and got their isk at the end of the battle. This is wrong.
Theres some debate about 1 shotting the reline railgun tanks with a proto turret. Yes this is possible but why should I need a fully specced railgun tank with a meager defenses because I have to fit for damage when they are not risking anything. I risk a proto turret and they risk nothing. Not equal, not fair, not balanced.
you don't need a proto turret all you need is triple damage mods, if they are a sica any turret will do for them. |
