With only a day and a half left before the patch notes hit, this is my last ditch effort.....
The Magsec was already better in pretty much every aspect before you decided to gimp poor Syndi. She's stuck with me through thick and thin, through the missile crisis, through the 80m HMG range, through the TAR incident, through the LLAV debacle, through the flaylock barrage, through the MD massacre, through the 1-second-grenade-fuse experiment, through the lazor melting madness, through the repping nanohive nightmare, and even up through this hellish tank/RR spam. Syndi has been a reliable yet never OP sidearm to me for over a year now.
And now, after having been a solid but never over-the-top sidearm to me for over a year, you have the GALL to NERF MY SYNDI while simultaneously releasing an OBVIOUSLY superior weapon!? HOW DARE YOU TREAT MY LADY LIKE THAT?! What has she ever done to you?! 2 years of faithful service in the Dust 514 armory and just when you release a newer more powerful model you kick her while she's down?
You might be doing this to get people to try out the new Magsec, but that is a FILTHY move and I for one WILL NOT TOLERATE IT. You have a fight on your hands now CCP.

(Edit: I suppose I should clarify, Syndi is what I call my Syndicate SMG.)

But by doing so, they are not being kept in line with the other sidearms. They were perfectly balanced against pistols since they had comparable DPS but the SMG required less precision and had a longer fire time while the pistol got bonus damage from headshots. They are now putting the Magsec in that is better than both the SMG and pistol WERE and nerfing the SMG. So basically the ranged sidearms rank- Flaylock/SMG/all the pistols/Magsec instead of the SMG being an even match with the pistols. At least if the SMG were on par with the pistols it would stand a chance against the Magsec, but with increased TTK even sneaking up on a Magsec won't help you win the fight if they are even a halfway decent shot.

That would be fine... if my proficiency 5 sidearm skill in SMG's weren't completely worthless to me for 2 straight months.

Not really. Magsec will have a higher penalty, but it has higher DPS, better range and better accuracy. So Magsec still wins out.

RR spam being greater than CR spam would seem to suggest otherwise, especially in the full auto category. CR has better ironsights and less kick but the ARR is more popular..... RoF ftw?

BLUE TAGS! You say you read the forums, I want to know why you would do this to our SMG while putting in a weapon that is stronger than it is and with better range. I challenge you! DEBATE ME! TELL me why you think this is a good idea! I'm willing to bet that if you take an SMG up against a Magsec at point blank, the Magsec user is going down hard. Just like rr vs cr Its rof makes it harder to use in cqc
I've yet to see a single RR user QQ about it's poor cqc performance, even the scrubby ones who you'd expect to. The silence alone is proof enough that it's cqc is still too good.

TELL me why you think this is a good idea! the smg was nerfed so it didnt deal more dps than its cousin, the combat rifle. being a light weapon, the CR should do more dps than its sidearm counterpart. dont worry, the SMG will still be a depndable sidearm. people will still fall to your 'Syndicate' smg and my 'Toxin' ICD-9 smg.
I'll wait and see how it gows, but I'll be back after the first scout 1v1's me with a magsec and I die before I manage to break their shields.
