Honorable CCP Remnant, beloved advocate of the Minmatar people,
I have finally realized that the Matari are expected to use a hybrid defensive strategy when fitting our dropsuits. Please forgive all my pleas for amplifying shield recovery. I thought we were to be the hit-and-run shield warriors but I misunderstood the grand design.
At first, I was very confused. Our loyalty store only carries shield modules but some of our suits have more armor than shield. Our Assault suits barely have low slots but have both worse shield buffer and shield recovery than the other shield race. Our Logistics suits used to have a self repairing armor feature but the Republic has discontinued their contract for Hannari Brand Nanite Repair Tape signaling a change to standard suit designs. The new Sentinel has bonuses for both shield and armor and we are the masters at fixing armor instead of shields. The only answer is that we are expected to employ both armor and shield enhancements in order to survive.
Correct me if I'm wrong but from this point forward I'll be fitting a combination of shield extenders, energizers and regulators along with armor repair modules and ferroscale plates. Attempting to have a superior buffer seems like a losing battle since we have the least starting shield and armor of any race so I'll still be focusing on recovery and maintaining full mobility.
I was hoping for one small advantage somewhere in our defensive systems but that is not to be. Some say we speed tank, which is laughable and others say we somehow damage tank by killing others before we fall. Actually, I believe my tribal brothers and sisters prefer to whiskey tank. That beautiful liquid lets us absorb the slings and arrows of our enemies while giving us the courage to continue to fight.
I raise a glass to the tribes while tuning my regulators. Now, where did my I put my armor plates?

I'm sure stacked catalyzers are the key to surviving in my Logistics dropsuit.

IMO, This is CORRECT.
CCP just needs to change the slot layout to imitate this.
4/3 slot layout CCP. There is no reason to run a 5/2. Give that to the Cal Assault.
I'm sure they would love the extra shields.

Sure. Those Scrambler Rifles can only shoot about 10 meters so running away is very effective and will lead to our ultimate victory.
I honestly tried to embrace the "purity" of a single defensive system. The Ishukone brochure promised that it was the right way to fit my suits. But, I'm back to cobbling together what will fit.
