However, without corporation loyalty, aren't you setting yourself up to be black-listed? How many places can you jump to before people don't want you in their corp because you won't stick around when times get slightly rough.
I've seen Teamplayers balloon at the height of their power... where are those mercs now? People jumped off the 0.H ship after the war with AE... People are jumping off the AE ship because they think that FA might overcome AE, etc. etc. etc...
Some merc stay in their corp, but contract out as ringers (snugglez is a great example). If you're recruiting or in charge of Corp Apps, do you not ask yourself "Why did this guy leave his last corp?" I know I sure do, because I don't want to spend time investing a gameplan around some mercs only to have them jump ship when the boat gets rocked by a wave.
Every corp has their core of players that'll never leave. But having a core of maybe 10-20 players isn't enough to become viable in MH.
not true. imps only had about 20 some members and did what corps with 100's of ppl do. pfbhz did the same as a small corp until they started open recruit. and so has many others. as far as loyalty goes that right there my friend is one of this games problems there is no loyalty when it comes to isk or aka money. in real life its the same way. politics is usually what lets players know that there will always be another corp to flock to once sh!t dries out in your corp or something bad happens. forums is the answer to all this chaos .
imps hat 45ish people on its closed beta tourney roster and upped to 60ish by the christmas.
Every mercs life ends the same way. It is only the details of how he lived and died that distinguishes one from another

I understand why some people might hop but if you're trying to position yourself anywhere outside of true mercenary corporations, you'll eventually get black listed.
Something different if you're finding your niche but if you're just doing it because you dislike being on the losing side at all times, you need to consider which realm of the industry you want to work in, in the future.
Edit: Corporations that act more like actual factions instead of purely businesses are the ones who would black list team hoppers, is what I mean.

I've essentially been with 2 corps my dust life I've stayed with the people. We are like family. I take bullets for my brothers. I skill into things because we need someone to do it. We have been through so much together I can't see playing with a different corp just for status or isk. This is what makes Dust fun for me. We don't kill the most or have the best w/l ratio but we enjoy each other company.

I've had the same Corp CEO for about 3+ years. It's really not about the game to me it's about the friends I have made in it. Although many people know me as a solo player I am very close and very loyal to my EVE Corp this is part of the reason I don't join any dust corps because it just does not feel right.

Thanks bro.
Loyalty is the foundation of trust.
Bonds of friendship are rooted in trust.
Strong bonds allow for stronger confidence.
That is brotherhood. That is family.
I value trust and loyalty over skill. That is why I have a family instead of a bunch of corp hopping mercs.

I doubt corp hopping will ever really be a problem, I haven't met many corps that will actually turn down a good player and i've met plenty that won't turn down any player at all lol.

Mercenaries do what mercenaries do, which is whatever they want to
Really there is not a right or wrong to what the individual player chooses to do, it is up to the corporation's decision makers to decide what type of member it wants. You can either go after or accept players that are really really good but may leave, or look for those who may stick around and become "lifers".
You can be like a weapons dealer who sells weapons to both sides of an armed conflict (kane spero) Or you can be the merc who fights for anyone as long as he gets paid(FA) Or you can be a corporation that hires ringers because owning a district is more important than getting better(too many to name)
Personally I found a corporation that I like. There will always be issues within corps. but with a little maturity most problems are resolved. So if anyone is ever looking to join a corporation long term with no real expectations of them, join Subsonic or the ROFL alliance.
This could be a picture that you could look at yet now you're wasting your time reading this.

Crimson Moon V wrote:I like playing with different people sometimes. I started in imps and that is my only true home in dust. I am a merc and I like being part of many different battles. That's why mercing is the way to go. I get to play with many colorful characters. Honestly isk doesn't matter. I'm rich enough to pub stomp for the next 5 years. Being a land holder and playing with same people every single day gets old. OH and AE are great corps and I enjoy playing with them but I like variety. Nothing against them I just like to merc myself out. N-F was inactive for a while that is the only reason I left IMPs and TP. Honestly I loved every corp I was in but N-F is family. We have an unspoken chemistry.
Every good corp should join N-F and ring for indie corps who control PC. We would be rich and have all the fights we want. Just my opinion. Holding land and playing 8 hours a day always causes drama. Leave that to the indie corps. Mercing is the way to go!
tbh, this is something I proposed and made a thread about. All top corps should restrict themselves to one planet and just merc out . Let all of the lower tiered cops hold land and hire out. It solves all problems and it's a win for everyone and will encourage more corps to join pc.

Was in 843 in closed beta. Open beta, all the way to now. We haven't had an officer leave the corporation since... March 2013 I don't believe.
@NAV Hell yeah, MAG loyalty is where it's at. These other coporations will rise and die as they do, but the MAG clans will be here forever. Some fall as they lost the way through their leadership (D3LTA FORC3, PRO) but most of the ones with a good leadership structure will remain.
