Uprising 1.4 introduced the Daily Bonus, where you can get up to 6000SP per day for logging in, but resets to zero if you miss a day.
I think a good perk to passive boosters would be to keep your max daily bonus going even when you don't login.
If you're playing a lot, then an active booster is still a better choice (gives 98k SP per week + up to 500SP/match once capped), but a passive booster would become a credible alternative if you're going to be away from your PS3 for a while, since it's not just the 84k/week passive boost, but not losing the 42k of daily bonuses as well.

I may be misunderstanding, but are you suggesting that you get the sp without logging in?
This would give you a total of 42k per day even when away from ps3, or 75%. If you still need to log in, I have no issues with this and support it wholeheartedly.

Whatever your current level of bonus SP is, it would stay at that level and not go down until the booster ran out, regardless of whether you logged in or not.

I see how you worked out the maths, but it's more like:
booster + active: 42k SP/day
active: 30k SP/day
so it's more like a 40% booster compared to someone who just logs in for 15 seconds per day (i.e. 'being incredibly lazy')
Personally, I'm really okay with someone spending that amount of AUR to save themselves logging in 15 seconds per day worth of effort.

If it's designed to encourage f2p players to continually login and maybe play some games and get hooked, then I see no problem with someone who is actually hooked enough to pony up the AUR for a passive booster to get the same bonus with less effort.

What I would be okay with is if the bonus simply didn't reset while you had a passive booster running, so you could safely leave your PS3 for a little while without sacrificing the bonus SP for when you come back.
Obviously your consecutive logins would have to reset.
In the end this would just be a buff to passive boosters, which smacks a little bit of P2W, even if it is only in a very small regard.
Real men do it with missiles.
