Some guy in my squad the other night was complaining about frames per second issues. I told him I dont get those either.
Even when my corp had a PC against Mottainai JAPAN and they got the Oceania server and lagged us to death, I didn't experience that lag while everyone else did.
Other players will lag sometimes. They will be in one spot and then warp to another spot. But it's hardly ever an issue. I can still target them easily.
I do remember in 1.6 or 1.5 I had serious lag issues, where my player would walk in directions I didn't tell him to, and I'd have to stop touching the controller for up to a minute before it would work again. It was really bad.
Then all of a sudden it stopped. Forever. They must have fixed it during downtime because I have never experienced it again. Recently I have been getting a MINOR version of this lag. But it goes away after a second or two.
Seriously guys. The thing everyone talks about with equipment spam? Lag switching? None of it affects me.
[quote=http://www.gamespot.com/reviews/dust-514-review/1900-6415604]When I started playing in closed beta my lag was rough and then my router died, I bought another and it died shortly after. I bought a very expensive router and it helped but what made the most difference was when I connected straight to the modem. Up until about four months ago I never played without being directly wired to the modem. I have had more lag and rubber banding in those four months than I have in the last year.
I can tell a difference in almost every aspect of the game when I change between wired to the router, wireless to the router and wired to the modem. Direct modem connections, for me, fixes almost every performance problem I have and even the difference between wired and wireless to the router is noticeable.
I also replaced a comcast modem right after beta started. I do believe that some of the performance problems people experience is caused by poor connections. I had a fatal error about two weeks ago and that is the only one I can think of, people complain about fatal errors a good bit but I never have that problem.
