This is kinda weird, writing this, I mean. It's has been a long time since I have played this game, and well, . . . I must say it's been a bit of a pleasant kick in the trousers since I have been back. Dropships are still a bit tricky to fly, but our missiles do work now. . . . YAY!!.
The problem is. . . . . well not much, but tanks are a bit too fast, and stop on a dime -->these things are heavy and should have inertia<--, and as forge-guns do deal loads of damage.
Forge guns should deal LOADS of damage at 100m because that's the effective rage of a dropship's missile turret, and, because any Pilot, or tanker who dares get close to any anti-tank/anti aircraft weapon is just asking to die, or get its tracks blown off or wings. -->hint<-- tanks are a bit of a stand-off weapon, well no they really are just a stand-off weapon, or a moving cover position for supporting troops. Dropships are really kinda like CAS/medi-vac/xfil unit, and AHEM ARE ALL SUPPORTED BY INFANTRY! Or well a TEAM!!
O, I have no problem with the reload/charge times for the forge-guns at proto.
OK, OK now here is the kicker! Ooooo the Rail-Tanks!!! o man, o man! he is going to say OMG they are O,P! I mean he is a drop ship pilot right?
Nahh !!! if you shoot anything that can fly with a large bore cannon and hit it, well it's going down sorry. . . I not really sorry but it is true.
Rail-Tanks should do loads of damage but man that large bore swinging titan and all that weapon's grade steel should weigh a crud tone and be hefty right?
I mean, man you spent how much SP on that big rail-tank's gun, and that little bitty forge-guns can do as much damage then you can? O, man you got robed, and she said that's cute and started laughing.
Rail-tank's should have a slower turret rotation speed, long range, small angle of attack, and high damage because its meant to kill other tanks.
Blaster-tanks should have a fast turret rotation speed, short range let say 80m, high angle of attack and high damage at short range because its meant to kill soft targets.
AV, should cost half as much as what it is meant to kill in terms of class for example, militia, advanced, and prototype, this will keep players mission/roll specific in terms of time spent in game kinda like eve.
Well this is just the two barrels of beer on the hull of an assault dropship pilot, and o yes swarms do need a bit of a buff but they should be more like a laser designated weapons system at short range that goes strait too the target/fire and a fast forget system that goes strait to target at short range.
There has been lots of barrels spent on my hull tonight but I like to be honest, these things I mentioned here would fix the game for a lot of people.

Have you even tried taking down tanks with them? Even crummy ones have a TTK well over 7.5 seconds, and that's with no hardeners active and assuming every shot hits. Meanwhile they can zoom away twice as fast as a boosted scout, AND in the case of a rail tank have infinite engagement range - Los willing.
Dropships are in a much better place now vs. Forge guns as well, so please again, get bent. Gone are the days of instant death vs a breach forge hun. Now you can soak up AT LAST 3 shots. Considering Dropships mobility and flight ceiling vs forge gun 300m range, I think you're doing just fine now.
And to top it all off, due to current forge gun prices, we spend WAY MORE THAN ANY TANK OR DROPSHIP in order to bring you down. Forge fits are NOT CHEAP! and to top it all off, we're already getting hit hard by the upcoming nerf to damage modules, thank you CCP.
So please take your **** somewhere else.
And IWS, maybe you make CCP aware of those points too while you're at it. Seeing as AV has what seems to be no voice on the CPM right now.

Read what i wrote, you do know reading is fundamental, proto dropships can get poped by a forged in a single shot, when the drop ship cant even see the forge gun, because no ground troops cant render at forge gun range. I ask you this, How much is a proto forge and how much is a assault drop ship? now flip that over how about i kill you for every 500k you spend when you cant even see me and lets say gun fit and all i spend 100k.
when did i ask anything to be nurfed? or did i just ask for things to be balanced?

I ask that you guys read what i wrote and think about it logically. Look at the effective, the tank types, dropship, and the av types. Look at the cost, benefit, range, and risk. |

Do that with Large turrets as well and we've got ourselves a more strategic game...
If these balances were implemented I believe dropships would need a slight change as well, such as base the splash damage from small missiles on how far away your shot is, so that we actually have to aim our shots to kill people (currently you just shoot remotely in the direction of infantry & it takes massive splash damage, this would need to stop if AV needed more time and planning to protect it's infantry.)
~ Hopefully CCP takes note, instead of straight damage nerfs to everything, which just leaves the game as boring as it is now. it takes guess work tho aiming in 3rd person dropship so i can't agree with the part that we're not aiming our shots now. the only way i would agree with your idea is if they improved the nose cannon camera i dont know about the nose camera thing thats how i fly and find it very accurate, |
