You can completely and utterly disregard any of the news about the event and play normally and you'll still be rewarded. People will protostomp with our without any incentive. They, like me, very likely have hundreds of millions of ISK and see no reason not to run proto. Yes, I will agree with you it sucks for the new players. Hell, I was playing last night and running into nothing but BPO suits in Ambush going ~20+ K/D in almost every game. Blame the crap matchmaking, not the players who are simply going around wanting to shoot stuff. Let me play you the song of my people!

Not sure if you can make it to 4, but that's assuming you don't have any skills in the dropsuit tree. If we reach the 2 mil goal, you'll be able to get your own suit if you have at least specialized. Then again, a proto suit is not worth to run unless you have proto modules. I have my proto ssuits, but I don't date run them until I have all the proto modules I want for it.

As you said with Protostomping, it's the only way to get ISK built up for some of the newer players. You can't get a leg up otherwise other than running frontline and everyone knows you have no health or damage as a frontline so basically all your doing while trying to raise cash is bringing your KDR down to around 0.16 or so. Most noobs bail out of the game because they get frustrated they can't do anything. Granted the BPO's are militia or just above militia, however it lets them try drop suit configures out without loosing all the ISK. All the new guys I spoke with won't invest in the pay to proto because they die so fast even with pay to proto. Its a waist of money (I'm sure CCP wants that). Still, you should at least feel rewarded for spending money on a game, not ripped off. This game needs more new players to keep the player base up, instead of slowly dying from attrition.

The protostompers very rarely die so for example even if they clone the enemy 150 + say the 20 deaths on the proto team = 170 clones terminated ... If both teams used MLT fits and both teams died 100 times each that = 200 ... Those who protostomp aren't doing anyone a service but themselves, I wouldn;t expect someone with the brain power of a goldfish to understand that though

That being said, the only way to reward lower tier players is to incentivise use of basic and militia, e.g. 1000 bonus SP for every kill with a militia weapon... This still doesn't make it "fair" as high SP players likely have some skills maxed that still give them an advantage over low SP players... So no matter what, there is no level playing field, I do agree though that it'd be nice if occasionally the slope was a bit more acute. Til then, do your part and run into gun fire (that's what I'll be doing), take stupid risks (it really seems to be confusing people when I run at them with an injector), and generally try different and sometimes stupid tactics. Then enjoy the 1-2 mil SP those proto-stompers helped the community earn. Not new, just new to you.

One side is using Basic to Advanced gear with maybe one or two protos. The other side is using three Ion Cannon tanks and a squad of full Prototype or Officer. The clone death on the second team tallies up to ~20 while the other side is reduced to 0 clones. Total Clones Destroyed: 170. Second case: Both sides are running mixed militia suits with ARs, damage mods, and kincats. Deaths on both sides are roughly equal with both sides having ~30 clones each. Total Clones Destroyed: 240. We made it to 900k in the first day. If all teams had played using scenario 2, we could have been almost 50% more efficient and reached over 1 million clones on day 1.
