I'm sure we've all seen this go down before:
It's the beginning of a Skirmish/Domination match, you've just spawned onto the ground and you're running to capture your team's first LOAN cannon. As you make a mad dash for the objectives, you hear a frendly tank passing by and minding it's own buisness. BUT THEN, the driver spots a neutral turret installation and decides to unload on it! In almost no time, it's like that turret was never even there. After seeing this DOZENS upon DOZENS of times, it hits me... "Wait... If these are installations that are just as big if not bigger than a tank..."
"Shouldn't they have much MORE sheild and armor than what they have now?"
I know how the CRU and SD Installations have more than 10,000 armor and plenty of sheild to compliment that, and they SHOULD. Because those are very important assets in battle for Infantry AND Vehicles (mostly SDs for Vehicles...). I'm not saying that Turret Installations should have MILLIONS of sheild and armor to the point that they're more immortal than the Mercenaries of EVE themselves, they just need to have more UMPH to em, u no?
Not everyone has AV weaponry, GOOD AV weaponry, at that. So, turrets would be the next option to rectify someone having a field day in a blaster tank on the opposite team.
But, I digress. I feel like I just needed to get that out in the open. Thanks for reading all of this, you wonderful human being.
Now if you'll EXCUSE me, I need to get back to pondering which logistics Race I'll be sporting on the 25th.
Medics have a role in the battlefield too, you know.

No the ai is to op ever been sniped by a ai railgun across the map or shot out of a passing lav they DON'T MISS

well they takes two shots form my double comp DMG modded BFG so they aren't THAT weak...
Thanks CCP for making the HMG Heavy viable again :3
That's no excuse to slack off on releasing a heavy laser though =.=

Hurm... Sorry, can't say I have. I only have that problem when someone's in control of a turret. I 've parked a tank in front of one once and it took about 5 seconds for it to notice me and start to track in my direction.
Medics have a role in the battlefield too, you know.

There was a really good suggestion a while ago talking about the tank's role in real life war situations.
It's not at all for being a near-immortal infantry slaying God like it is in Dust.
They are for assaulting enemy strongholds. Performing the high payload tasks that infantry normally can't achieve.
So this guy was suggesting the turrets HP increases, and using more turrets overall, to give tanks the role they're SUPPOSED to have.
Also farming WP from turrets is ridiculous to the point of abuse.
