Surprised by the amount of stuff that has changed. New weapons and the like means there is actual variety out there. Not just AR's and Tac AR's. I see heaps of Rail Rifles, which seem kinda OP, and combat rifles. Plenty of Scramblers, shotguns and HMG's. Way more laser rifles than before. That thing died all kinds of fast after Uprising. Good to see it is being used again.
Textures load, now. Great. Plus all the refinements to aim sensitivity. Little improvements like that make me happy. But, the rest is super messy, still.
The loyalty system is a good idea. Unfortunately if you want to prioritise loyalty points you'll be waiting, in my case, 5-10 minutes to get in a match if you want just Gallente/Amarr stuff. Like I do. Which is because the games player count is still so low.
So, you have to pick all of them and scatter the points all over the place. Which isn't a good idea. Then, once you get in and get past the team killers and premades, and it becomes super entertaining. But, the constant getting whooped by premades is already tiring me of the whole idea of that mode. And, you only get 65 points if you lose? I don't know what you get if you win since I haven't won a match, yet /:/ But, 65 is not a lot. Especially when it is scattered through 4 different factions.
But, if you choose to play standard matches you run the risk of getting in at the end of a match, getting matched with people who STILL afk farm, or getting stuck with barely any people on either team. Now. last one could be because everyone is in FW or because the player count is still very low. Hard to say. But still really annoying.
Mode variety is still boring. Only TDM and point capture? Still? Still?
At least the maps have drastically improvised. Most of them are pretty dang good now. Which is great. Good job.
Game is weird, man. I had 6 million SP when I came back. So, that's nice. You can still leave a character and gain passive SP over months? Didn't CCP say they were going to stop that? Seems as if that didn't happen. Like a whole lot of things. The progress that has been made has me interested in what Fanfest will offer. Good God I hope they announce the game for more platforms. This player count needs to go up. Unfortunately the game is STILL insanely impenetrable to new people. So, it might be pointless? I don't know.
And the integration with EVE is still so minor. All the stuff that was being talked about by CCP was super misleading and, almost, none of it has come true. There was a Deatructoid article about the possibility of future modes and the ones that were listed sounded great. Where are they? Where is thins game going?
Oh, and you STILL CANT SELL STUFF? Why?!?! Or am I missing something? That can't be right.
Games weird, man. Weird and frustrating. |

Atiim wrote:Wow. Your timing couldn't have been better. We are currently having an event that will give out 1m SP if we can terminate 1m clones, and you get an extra 500k if you activate an Active Booster today, and an extra 1m if you activate an Omega Active Booster. But if you want to qualify, you have to play at least 10 matches. There's also supposed to be a huge update that will fix the overpowered rifles, as well as rasing the TTK. (It became ridiculously low when CCP "fixed" the hit detection and added AA) If you have some AUR to spend, buy and activate an Omega Active Booster. If your broke, you can still obtain a Free 3-Day Active Booster (and some other goodies) by visiting this thread here. Welcome Back. -HAND
I hope the Rail Rifle is looked at. I was ripped to pieces by a proto one earlier at a range of 111m. That is the range of the old school laser rifle and they had to nerf that thing hard.
I don't feel as if the weapons are too powerful, with the exception of the Rail Rifle. Raising TTK could be interesting but, I saw a player earlier, with 400 shields and 830 armour. That guy already has an insanely high TTK what good will it do anyone to make that even LONGER?
The extra SP sounds useful, to an extent. It doesn't solve any of the problems I have with the game. I already have 1.6 million still and I have no idea what to spend it on because none of it solves the core game issues I have.
Victin Ashis wrote: Yeah I'm still surpised that they haven't added the rest of the suits in. They were talking about them at last years fanfest and they are only now coming in with 1.8. aside from the small choice of gametypes they've added only a few maps. Even when they were doing monthly updates the pace still seems glacial at best.
It seems to me that the game has been placed in maintenance mode and only has a token team of about 20 people working on it at most.
Totally. After 10 months I expected at least ONE more mode to play. It seems the monthly updates are here just to fix the core mechanical issues with the game whilst ignoring everything else. Which is fine. Because it needed those mechanical fixes. But, content seems to be a super low priority for them. I hope that changes with 2.0. You'd have to imagine they have something big planned. But, right now, I feel no desire to play until the 25th when the patch comes out. |
