Well after about a 8 month break I decided to come back for the million clone event and to try out 1.8. I was hoping that in the past 8 months there would have been at least some performance improvements but that's clearly not the case. I'm lucky to get 10 fps whenever I get into a firefight. I've even tried turning the texture and effect details to low.
What gives? |

I searched for frame rate, and this thread is all i got
kinda funny seeing all the usual nerf this & buff that threads, but none regarding something that should come first and foremost in a fps'er
I had about a month off, then came back to play for the 2mil bonus sp, but couldn't play or get into it due to the frame rate, although, granted, i used to manage just fine, but after a break and playing other games, its more than noticeable and more than unplayable now
I can only guess the forums aren't full of complaints over it because everyone else is also so used to how it is, but CCP, your game runs like ****, please learn to optimize and bring us out of this 15fps shitfest you got going on
(and no giving the heavies and scouts a wack texture clearly isn't enough)

This has ONLY happened to me in the domination in the city that's underground. It also happened to the whole squad.
I seriously NEVER get lag, even now. That was the only time I've had a problem so far in 1.8, just that one match.
Keep in mind I had matches on that same map before that match, and there were no framerate issues.
I think you guys just have a bad internet connection...
You people who have an ego trip from proto stomping have a harsh reality waiting in life after you turn off the PS3.

I have had really good framerate since 1.8 dropped. Although, I have never really had any bad framerate issues for the last few patches.

This game is unoptimised , laggy ass BS. However I found that turning off voice chat in the options DOES help a lot in terms of performance.
Forget the texture settings, I dont even think they actually do anything (Do they?) also push to talk also does seem to help. Certainly turning voice chat totally off in the options helps a lot. |

Some of the sockets have massive performance issues..
A big reason why most of them got put on hold.
But this patch has improved the performance somewhat... It's far from good but it's better.
Lets hope Frame Rates being a solid 30 FPS even with a full 16 vs 16 firing bullets each with 1-2 equipment being used Will be in the Future for DUST 514. |

aye, its kinda like i said, i think its goes unnoticed when you play everyday \ most days, as i never really noticed it outside of certain sockets either, but now, since having a break, its blatent in your face
And no its not lag, its frame rate, and my 50mb internets are more than adequate for every other online game i play

My Standard Res TV doesn't get bad frame rates at all, and others have said that when they dialed their PS3's resolution down, it ran so much better. Albeit looking like ****
Your going to have to go and configure your video setting in the PS3 settings menu.
CCP. Do some high res optimization. Please.
Because you wanted to be something you're not.

Has anyone ever had the brains to realize that this game isn't meant for the PS3?
When I join the match, my PS3 takes a sh!t on framerate. After joining the match and spawning in, my PS3 is spot on with framerate.
